Morning You Guys.....

Way to go on the BBQ Carmen..

Morning, DC, Glenn, Grapsdmouse, and Robert

We are having some trees cut down today...they are too near the boat shed and one is rotten. They are too big for hubby to tackle..hurricane season is approaching and we learned from Hurricane Rita to get rid of any trees that might be a problem. These are the last ones left they are big ones. I hate cutting down trees but, after seeing the damage they do during a storm have come to realize they need to go.

Morning Dream, Norma, Glenn, Robert, and Terri...

Went for a cup of coffee and ended up getting my bedroom swept and some laundry done.

Also wrapped (ok put in a gift bag) my daughter's birthday gifts. Her 21st birthday is Tuesday but we are taking her to lunch today and doing the gift and cake thing. To many conflicting schedules on Tuesday.

Terri...glad the rain went away for prom. I bet she looked beautiful. Rain is actually not to bad for amusement park. It keeps the lines down and you stay cool!

Norma...Timber....LOL

Dream...Yes I enjoyed my day yesterday...never did get to the book but spent over an hour at Office Max...I love office supplies and electronics woo hoo!

Also went and got a sandwich and dessert! MMMM

Hope everyone had a great Saturday...I am getting ready to balance check book! Really need to step into the modern age and get online banking!! LOL

Hugs for everyone

Hi, Norma.

I still have my son in grade school, but this was my last girl. No more gowns or updos or all that fancy stuff. I'll miss it, I think.

Good morning all, Just got back from a bike ride (bicycle, gave up on motorcycles years ago) on the bayou. It's beautiful today, sunny and cool, lots of people up early walking dogs, jogging, drinking coffee and socializing.

Went on a date last night,we watched "Casablanca" in the park. They set up a screen in a small baseball field, maybe 50 people with lawn chairs, icechests. I made a picnic basket with grapes, strawberries, cheese and crackers and a bottle of wine. It was lots of fun, and plan to do it again next Sat. for "The wizard of OZ". Hope all have a great day, I have chores instore for me today.

hi, all-great to hear how everyone's day went. carmen, you should get the laugh of the month award for each time you describe your family. you are a great sport about it. nothing i hate worse than not being drunk and watching stumbling drunks #%$^%$^%$& everything up! glad you and glennn got to eat. great job on the good samaritan thing, glenn.

terri-i only have boys and they are only 7 and 10 so i'll never do the prom thing in that way, but i sure remember my own. glad it went so well.

hi, norma and everyone else!

well, today is the last WEDDING SHOWER!!! thank god it's just a few minutes from home, as i said. thank god, too, for my klonopin or i'd never make it through. this one is given by all my mom's friends, so at least it's mostly people i know. unfortunately, that doesn't mean much for me in the way of crowd stress. in fact, it often better when i don't know anyone. at least then, i can tell myself i never have to see these people again...lol...hopefully i can get through it with grace. i've made it so far wedding is june 7th and then i feel like i'll finally be able to take a breath and start enjoying summer.

speaking of which, it is in the 40's here today, so i guess i shouldn't look forward too much to "summer". there was one year where summer here was a total bust. it rarely got above 55 and it rained for 33 days straight. why does anyone live here you might ask? when it is beautiful, it is really beautiful. the saying goes "if you don't like the weather, wait 5 minutes". i just hope it's nice for the wedding.

hope you all have a wonderful sunday!

that sounds like a wonderful date, dreux. how romantic! you have a good day, too

btw-thanks to all of you who read my story and commented. it's the first time i've ever let anyone read even part of it and it's given me some courage to know that people who understand what i'm talking about understand the descriptions and metaphors i've used. i hope to have it published one day and so i guess i'll have to let people start reading it...lol...thanks again.

Hey Terri...I love the Glenda the Good Witch, Billie Burke was the actress...and her voice was perfect for the role.

Zinnia....cold weather still again!!! My warmest thought go to you, hope they warm your heart at least...your feet are on their own....LOL

Dreux...that sounded like a great date...what a super idea for a movie in City Park with a picnic lunch....
