Dr visit said my hormones are very normal...inside she said looks very normal...I have sex once a year. You heard me right. It feels like my scar is preventing any stretching in there - and my husband is well endowed. So yes, I need therapy (or hypnosis) so I can want to have sex again...and yes, I need to remind my husband about foreplay...but geez, I just don't think they left enough room in there after my hysterectomy - they left the ovaries, but a little tiny space...it just plain hurts to have sex. Lubrication: check. Mood Music: check. Thrusting: holy shit. My poor husband. Couldn't he be four inches shorter? Thanks, by the way, for everyone's feedback...who else can you ask questions like this to?

Hey, Clevergirl...could be scar tissue?? You have a patient hubby....sex isn all of a relationship is it? Intimacy and loving cuddling is so nice also...my hubby is younger than I am and when he gets frisky...which is often, bless his heart. I feel like an old cat that is napping and comfortable...and here comes this kitten wanting to play...full of life. I just want to bat at him with my paw...LOL

Not to sound vulgar but how many different positions have you tried--to straighten the what use to be cervical area--like propted up on pillows or something. Not trying to infringe on your sex life, but if it is scar tissue you have to take this into consideration--my gyn talked to me about what we could and couldn't do till I completely healed.

Oh my god I got a whole visual of the kitten thing! Too funny.

Meow....LOL...seriously, I am glad you said what I was thinking about the positions, MMM. That is a good suggestion.

I just love you guys! Norma, that was great! It could be scar tissue, but the surgery was 7-8 yrs ago...and honestly, we have tried a few positions - but they only last about 3 minutes or so...then we're done! (whew) I'm have hang-ups in the bedroom so I'm trying to eliminate any possible causes of crappy sex(but in my mind sometimes I'd be willing to try just about anything - I'm 37 for crying out loud! It's true what they say about your 30s...) I was raped by two men 20 years ago, which really sucked.

I had become comfortable in the bedroom again with my husband (5 times a day - joy!!) - then on our honeymoon the son-of-a-bitch went and got irritated when I commanded him to do something (something regular) but I used a dirty word...(back then he wanted the sweet bride - now he's dying for a whore)...so I absolutely lost all confidence I had built up, and it's been downhill from there. That's 15 yrs ago. I'm neurotic. But I told him - 'If everytime you had sex you felt like you were being punched, then never got to finish, would you want to bother?' His answer is always 'yes'.

SO, now I'm in my 30s, probably with the best body I've ever had - seems to be in fine working order - moreso than ever before.... I'm comfortable with myself - but I don't know how to tell him what to do (he's forgotten EVERYTHING)...'cause lord knows he'd do ANYTHING right about now. I don't know what's normal...what's okay to do. What should I feel silly doing?

I think it's been too many years that my anxiety had me frozen stiff during sex, making 'dear lord, please let this end soon' or 'oh! don't touch me there' or 'that tickles' faces. He treats me like a china doll. And really, he kinda has to because (like I said above) the poor man is just plain bigger than me. I almost wish he'd have an affair to loosen himself up, come home and just act like he did when he was 25. (minus the thrusting)

I'm on Lamictal 200 - Lithium 900 - Ritalin LA 40 - Klonopin 1mg - and something for sleep that I'm going to ask them to change because I just dream ALL NIGHT LONG - mostly about Brad Pitt, Christian Bale and large houses with swimming pools.

Hi, clever, although I am sure you would not want to go through another surgery, it might be in order to assure they didn't do something crazy, there must be a way besides putting you up in the stirrups, and Lord do I hate that too, I count the holes in the ceiling tiles..lol..

couples therapy, sex therapy, and some serious therapy for you to get over the pain of the rapes is in order as well, it's hard to relax if you are having flash backs to those times, there are some books out there that talk about different positions, you might be suffering PTSD from the rapes, for me I have been with some men that ought to be in porn movies, and even without the surgery, having sex with them could be down right painful, excuse me for be graphic, but the only ones I found comfortable, was with my butt propped up with pillows a good 5" off the bed and doggie style..

I'd be drowning Brad Pitt in the swimming pool and cozying up with Mark Walberg.

I just want all of you to know I am traumatized. I was just chit chatting with my mom about this discussion(she had a hyst. 23 yrs ago). She says "well your father and I use to have to have sex w/ my butt propted in the air too". I know I need therapy now.

But there has to be something to it if we all are saying it.

I have to say this...it is so great that we can discuss things like we are discussing. Years ago the words pregnancy and menstural cycle were not said in mixed company or even at all. We said "with child" and "time of the month". They were mentioned in hushed tones and never where men could hear it...We've come a long way baby...and it is for the good. Thank goodness!!!
