I gotta Dr. appt today for my annual (checking my hormones to makes sure they aren't to blame for my craziness) but I'm going to ask her a question about the results of the procedure...and was wondering if any of you could provide insight before I go and embarrass myself with my feet in the stirrups.

Hi, Clever, never have had one myself, but hormones can really mess with you, you can work on the issues involving your love life with your therapist and your doctor, see if they are related to your illness.

Clevergirl, I had my tubes tied and years ago had an ectopic pregnancy and one ovary removed...my hormones were a problem when I was in my 40's. Have leveled off but, still have monthly cycle...the ovary they left must be one hell of an ovary. I notice once a month I have more mood changes. You might want to also have thyroid checked as it can affect our libido.

They finally let me get my tubes tied when I was 30, 3 years later I had a ectopic pregnancy--emerg surg (I'm sure norma understand when I say PAINFUL) took right tube left the ovary. 3 years later I was rushed in again for hysterecmy. They left only the ovaries so I would go thru menapause as naturally as possible because I was BP. She didn't want me on antiphyc. and hormone replacement for the next 20 years. That was last year, 2 months ago I started having night sweats and hot flashes with headaches--hormones stir crazy--they think I've started menapause --I'm only 37. So no you are not crazy. Hormones are a B****H! The 1st 6 months my insides felt really wierd--kinda tight--maybe that's what you mean by smaller. I noticed a change in my sex drive after a couple months--for me it improved. I think because it wasn't so painful anymore (sorry to be so bold).

Who doesn't feel embarassed with their feet in the stirrups.

Good luck.

i had one at 38. i felt crazier than usual...lol...i couldn't figure out if i was sad that someone was forcing me never to have another baby (even though i never planned to) or if it was my hormones??? be sure to take enough time to physically recover. i didn't and i think that made things way worse for me...sex was better for me because i didn't have to worry about pregnancy. i've heard it's a problem for lots of women, though. be sure to check with your doc about the thyroid thing. i've had major problems with that lately and it can really mess with everything!!!

I had a hysterectomy when I was 27. I still have one ovary for the hormones. I think it made me a tad bit crazier than I already was HAHA. Ive had trouble with my mood for years. I had everything under the sun checked only to be told I was NORMAL!YAY!I love that word If I was normal, I wouldn't be in a Dr's office crying uncontrollably to a nurse just because there was snow on the ground??I had been in and out of Dr's for many years trying to figure out why I was sad/blue/angry/irritated/BLAH.... I believe the hormones play a big role in it. It sucks big time. I wish I had interest in sex, I don't. That really sucks big time. I never have. Was hoping that would change after surgery. Was painful before surgery, thought that was the reason I didn't want to do anything?Guess it was just my libido also...Where is that womens miracle pill??????

After having 2 children & a hysterectomy, I don't get to embaressed anymore going to get exams HAHA. I just wonder how many people seen my 'parts' while I was knocked out during surgery LOL. That kinda helps ease my fears going to the Dr. nowadays!

Good luck with your Dr. appointment!

I'm the opposite, my scar is still sensitive. I was back and forth between my shrink and gyn trying to decifer my mood swings. My shrink at the time was cool and would actually speak with my gyn (She is great and I will never give her up). No offense to anyone, but I hate kids and I NEVER wanted to experience pregnancy so I didn't go thru the maternal stage.
