ok, it's almost 6 by me so i think that is an acceptable time to start some good coffee. I got scared for a second there. I thought i only had decaf but i found the good stuff thank god lol. Fortunately, i guess, my mom doesnt sleep to well anyway so she wont be mad if I wake her up with the nice smell of coffee

Morning DC, coffee is over by the bar, little to early yet for foo foo drinks, but then Shelly is operating in pm hours, so might have to open the bar for her..lol..

Shelly, most of my past were just boy toys, something to play with and then send home..lol.. hubby came into the picture and I felt safe to let the little girl in me come out of hiding after all the abuse she had been put through.. I had developed a alter ego, named Dragon lady by my brothers, she would just as soon rip your juggler out than give you the time of day, after meeting Glenn I realized that she needed to be put to sleep, she had served her purpose, she helped me to cope and make it through a traumatic childhood.. like most of us here have had, I started seeking out help for what was going on with me, put on antidepressants for years, labeled as severely depressed, well that explained the depression side, but didn't cover the moodswings, rage/anger and panic attacks, after trying to commit suicide in July this past year, I got out of the hospital and the doctors over at Mental health wanted me to stay on the meds I was taking prior to the attempt, I was like what the hell makes you think they are going to work now as they didn't before this..? 4 bloody anti's at once and I was still depressed enough to try, I fought for a reconsideration, got the bipolar II diagnosis and was put on the Lamictal and weaned off all the others.. haven't felt better in my life, with the exception of the occasional stress, but that is caused by outside influence..

Joe, if you make coffee often enough, they will be come accustom to the smell and learn to sleep right through it, Glenn is a light sleeper but he has become so use to my being up at ungodly hours, he just goes right back to sleep.

I am trying to stay away from the coffee but do love a great cup of tea. Orange Pekoe is my favorite tea at the moment. Tea would never smell strong enough to wake your mom...

When I visited the USA recently I was blown away by how strong the coffee was - it was thermonuclear!

Shelly, We Americans are a sleep deprived, caffiene addicted group of folks. Our coffee HAS to be strong or we all curl up in a ball and sleep. Have you ever been to Europe? Germany and France make coffee that makes ours look like bubbly water.

Carmen, thanks for pointing me in the direction of that lovely elixir. I barely have my eyes open right now.

DreamChaser, so if Americans are naturally sleep deprived and addicted to coffee, irritable in the mornings, foggy due to loss of concentration etc..how do they ever know who is BP and who is normal? LOL

I haven't been to Europe yet but I used to have some clients who were from Turkey. They would make this coffee on the stove that was so far beyond mud...it was potting mix! You could have planted a daisy or two in the pot it was so thick and full of texture! LOL. Tasted great though - not at all bitter.

lol, you want coffee that will curl your toes? try Lebanese coffee made the correct way, they take coffee finely ground, reminds me of instant, and boil the stuff grounds and all four times and then serve it in tiny cups, you don't drink the last little bit, that stuff will keep you wired for 3 days off one little cup..lol. a friend of mine Nader, made some for me one day his Mom had sent him from Lebanon, he offered me a second cup, had to decline or I would be up painting the 50 unit apartment building we lived in..rofl..

Joe you've gone and done it, your coffee has woken up the birds at my end of the block..

Rofl.. Shelly that is the paradox, they can't tell for sure, who is just sleep deprived or bipolar.. as for the cocktail list? here on the island we have foo foo drinks, served by cabana boys and girls wearing skimpy little beach wear, they can be anything you want and the nice part is you don't suffer from the hangovers..
