MDJunction to me

ThereseML"When I first came to MDJ, I was in need of peer support in dealing with issues of my childhood abuse. I was moving away from the painful issues and trying to find an uplifting group of people to help me transition to a thriver in my life. I found that here. I also found a group of peers with Fibromyalgia and found the same uplifting experience there. My computer crashed and it was a while before I found my way back, this time with issues related to Parkinson's Disease. I had tried a few other support sites before reminding myself of MDJ. On those, I never got a reply. I finally found my way back here and again found very supportive, caring and inspiring people who made me feel like I was 'back home'. Indeed I am." (ThereseML)

GOOOOOOD MORNING MDJunction, wake up all you sleepy heads. Coffee is a brewing and water is on for tea. On the menu today is pancakes with fresh maple syrup, sausage links and fresh fruit. Eat up everyone.

Working up a discussion for those of us dieting (some perpetually....me!). The suggestion for the name "healthier size" has arisen, and sounds good. Be watching for the thread in the near future.

Red, that new thread sounds like a great idea - count me in! I've gained about 20 lbs. since my husband was diagnosed, and I can't even blame the meds, LOL.

Dreamchaser, I'm Terri - nice to meet you! Don't worry about eating here in the lounge. Everything here is fat and calorie free. It's just the real world you have to watch out for.

So, what's everyone up to today? I have to get to the grocery store (which I dread), but I got a new car I get to drive there, so that makes it better. Also, laundry and stuff. Usual Sunday.

Hey all been doing a little looking around here on MDJunction in relation to dieting. There actually is already a forum here for Diet, I will add the link below. The big question is, do we want to meet over at that site or would everyone feel more comfortable starting a thread here? Take a look at the forum an let me know, I will go with the group where ever we decide to meet.

Morning Terri, it's a pleasure to meet you Smile

Um, I am afraid even the calorie free, yummy foods here in the lounge would find a way to make it to my hips, and refuse to budge. LOL

I am cleaning again today. Also, going to take a walk on this beautiful morning. Then, I will likely watch a movie on Netflix(my secret passion these days). Shhhh, don't tell anyone

I expect a great week ahead. My son is home on leave from Iraq, and he will be here tomorrow evening to spend the week. I'm so excited. I just wish he did not have to go back.

Red,

I'm leaning towards having it here. I think the weight problem effects many of us. Between the meds and the stress, it's kind of a unique situation that we deal with. And, new people might not find it in the weight loss area if they didn't know about it. That's just my opinion - maybe we should try to get a vote or something.

I do think the weight loss area seems to have relevent and helpful information, too! (Thinking about joining there, as well).

Red,

I looked at the Diet Support site. Is it new? There are a total of 43 posts in all forums combined. I am leaning toward having our own forum here. We have unique circumstances and our medications really change our metabolisms. On the other hand, it looked like they had some professionals who could give some sound advice.

Good Morning Everyone, Dreamcatcher, welcome to our little island, like you I believe even the fat free, calorie free, guilt free foods on the island would make it to my hips too..lol.

Terri, I am leaning with you on having it here maybe in the lounge section, while some of the ones in the other group might understand the stress eating, I am not sure of the relationship due to medications and bipolar.

How is everyone this AM? for me I am feeling a little fragile this AM, has anyone noticed that either since the diagnosis, or like me after a suicide attempt that your emotions and reactions to things are more pronounced?

See, dreamchaser is thinking just like me Smile. We could join the other site, and bring back information that we feel would be helpful everyone.
