Red,

Yup, I learned that lesson the hard way. I have gone on these rapid weight loss programs many times during my life, and never had this happen. The MD said that the psychotropics reduce your blood sugar levels, and the diet was just lowering even further.

40 pounds over 6 months is a great goal! It sounds like you already know how to accomplish it so success should be easy street. Please keep me posted on your progress. I could really use some motivation right now.

DC (DreamChaser) maybe we should start a thread for those trying to loose weight, I know there are a few on here trying to loose weight. A little moral support goes a long way. MDJunction is proof of it!

I think a weight loss thread is a wonderful idea. It seems like so many of the meds cause weight gain. I'm sure there a quite a few of us working on this.

Ok, I need to log off and actually do some housework. Not my favorite passtime on a Saturday, but I am putting a positive spin on it by thinking of all of the calories I will burn!

Great day to you!

He might need one...I have backed off a lot...and he is becoming a lot more independant each day...I am going from caretaker role to momma again. Of course, being an overly protective Momma I just want to do everything for him...have to fight the inclination!!! LOL

Hope your dieting goes well...I am bipolar also, and have a terrible time dieting...I love whipped cream, butter...and all the fattening things...

Hey, Red I just saw your post..I am fine...still have the slumber party kids at the house. Feeding them breakfast...then off to their own house...bellies full. They stayed up all night. I went to bed about 2:00...told them don't play with matches...locked my door.

LOL I know..locking them out!!! this is better when step-son was teenager and had 5 or 6 boys over...they would do boxing in garage...yep, and have pool tournaments all night in game room...would rather them be at my house than wondering where they are. Middle of the night hear crash...window in game room broken...boys roughhousing...too funny...have to come out and give "you guys calm down speech"...LOL
