I play well with others, but that's about the only thing I do well. Near the end of my position I was just playing not doing anything productive. But I had a good reason to melt down. My husband and I were separated and working through a dozen different issues. Between that and the work, I couldn't function. Before that I was a great creative person.

I hate authority and having someone telling me how to do something when my way is better. I had the worst time with that. When I worked for the mortgage company I had the boss from hell.

Lainey, I think that you would be well suited for that job.

Thanks MsJ, I just hope other people feel the same way. I have loads of experience working with children.

Marital problems and work just don't mix. I think I made it through 7 years with the mortgage company - Chase Manhattan - bc I was smoking weed all the time LOL

I hate bosses that micro manage. Give me my job, and let me do it. It doesn't have to be done YOUR way!

I went to a doctors appt in the afternoon one day at work. And never came back. Got admitted right away. Stayed about 5 days and went to a day program for about 5/6 weeks. They pressured me to come back and I couldn't do it. So I had to resign.

They also required me to work on getting my degree. During all of this I managed to get an A in the class.

My boss was jealous bc I knew the software programs inside and out and could do so many things with them. I also had to make phone calls to other mtg companies looking for missing documents. It was hard at first to make calls, but once I got into my niche I was really good at it.

I'm sure you were. I was good at my job too. It's amazing how intelligent people can have such problems being BP or having other dx's.

I ended up talking to HR about this boss and they gave me 3 options. Quit, transfer or take medical leave, so I took medical leave. They fired me after 8 months LOL

At least you don't have to deal with your boss anymore. And you haven't worked since? Even part time? Was this before you got sober?
