Hey Carmen, wish I could come and bring a dish. Hey, that's just one less to worry about. It's her loss.

Thanks everyone, she ended up showing up, and my younger brother and his partner, so dinner turned out well, Jerr's sister didn't come, kinda didn't expect her too, as she is basically a recluse, has Lupus and just doesn't associate much, but she sent the most wonderful Mac and Cheese..

Guess I made the Mother feel guilty for not wanting to come, she's always bitched about my Sister in law, not inviting her over to their place, but here I am inviting her to mine and she never shows up. At least she got here once, and I am beyond caring now if she ever darkens my doorstep again, I got upset, told her I didn't want her here if she didn't want to be here, started crying and handed the phone to Glenn, he was livid to say the least, cause he knew I was looking forward to having them here. he was about ready to call them all back and say F them, don't bother..

Mentally wiped out now, thinking about going to bed.

MMMMM Leftovers sounds good Carmen have a big foo foo drink on me maybe one with some nice relaxing herbs. My family usually comes to our house for big gatherings a couple of times a year this year in late April I will have the whole family over for my mothers birthday party [she will be 70]She called the other day all stressed out and said to plan on between 70 and 80 people. She was freaking out until I reminded her last july we had a big get together and there was 75.and they were all family.Everyone brings a dish we set up all the folding tables we can find it always turns out some years Great some years I just thank god when it is over but every single time I get so worked up I swear I will never do it again ....but I always do take a nap dear I know you need one.

Thanks Y'all, I appreciate your caring and concern, Mom, your parties sound like a wonderful time, I love cooking for big crowds like that, right up my alley, don't know that I care for being around all that much people but cooking for them is a blast, we're thinking about doing a barbecue thing for Glenn's birthday, if he manages to live till then..

I'll ask my Mom to come over, and count on her not showing up, so that I will be pleasantly surprised if she does. This morning, after all the planning had been done, the cooking started and she called me all twisted cause her potato salad didn't turn out, she wasn't going to come, it was like a stake through the heart, told her just bring her pickles and onions, and I would make it, but no, she just didn't feel like coming..

Got a recipe to share, this is crock pot mac and cheese

2 cups, uncooked elbow macaroni

4 tblsp (1/2 stick) butter

2 1/2 cups grated sharp cheddar cheese

3 eggs beaten

1/2 cup sour cream

1 can condensed cheddar cheese soup

1/2 tsp salt

1 cup whole milk

1/2 tsp dry mustard

1/2 tsp black pepper

boil macaroni till tender, drain, in medium saucepan on low heat, mix butter and cheese, stir till melted.

In slow cooker (crockpot) combine cheese and butter mixture, add eggs, sour cream, cheese soup, salt, milk, dry mustard and pepper, stir well. Add drained macaroni, stir and set slow cooker (crock pot) on low, cook for 3 hours, stirring occasionally..

This turned out absolutely wonderful..

Thanks that looks like a great recipe....am going to try it...Carmen this is my take on your Momma...she may just be wanting to get a rise out of you, not on purpose, but, it sounds like this has happened before, change up the game....whatever response she usually gets give her the opposite?? Worth a try...?? Just trying to help...I hate to see you upset...you try so hard to help us...hugs, Norma

Hey Norma, you need to try the recipe, it is wonderful, and from the looks of it very easy to make, will be making more myself.

Your right about this not being the first time, there have been many times over my life that she has basically kicked me in the teeth.. so many times she would pass by my place going to one of my brothers and then use the excuse it was too far to my place. I've tried the different tactics, till today and it truly felt like a stake through the heart, she hasn't made me fall apart like that, she was suppose to come over months ago, we've lived here since November, and she never could make it over despite promises, and would then the next day or the next week go to one of my other brothers, driving right by where I live, when she did this the last time, i told Glenn I didn't care whether she ever showed up on our doorstep or not.

I don't know why it hurt so bad today, probably because I was looking forward to it, I ought to know better, you'd think..

Today's fun has just completely wiped me out, could not take a nap as much as I wanted too, as I have to work in the morning, I am just hoping that the eyes are not to swollen, I cry and the eyes puff up like i have been stung by bee's.. speaking of puffing up, how are your hives doing? are you feeling better?
