I once had a piece of ruber fly up and jam the throttle at I-70 Speedway. I figured it out and killed the engine but I knew I was going to hit a ton so I threw it sideways. It didn't sound like a crash it was just "WHUMP!" like a stick of dynamite. It not only ripped the roof loose and sent it over the wall, it broke the right frame in two places and snapped a bunch of rollover bars. I moved everything around on my body and decide I'm in one piece then notice the red flag is out (All racers stop HERE and NOW!). I undid the harness and stood up on the seat to see who crashed so bad. The crowd broke out in cheers so I took a bow. They sent me to the hospital to get checked out but except for being on an Advil diet the next week I was fine. Bumps and bruises. Racers have to be a little nuts. I was over-qualified!
