HalfHappy, you are in charge of the choices you make. We all have these kinds of issues, so venting here is cool... As for me, your Dad doesn't have a clue what is causing your situation that requires medication to balance out what your body is missing. A chemical imbalance may be also the cause of his attitude and behavior... So you can choose to let go of the power cord you gave him and hope and pray he gets the help he needs... JMHO, Glenn

Thanks Glenndolph....

I realize that people only have as much power as we give them, and I'm trying to "let go of the power cord" that I gave to my father. Which, I'm sure you realize is easier said than done, but I'm working through it w/ my therapist. For years, I credited my dad for taking me out of a very dangerous life and giving me a home. In reality, he provided a house, not a home. I'm beginning to see that now.

Also, he is aware that he should be on meds as well.... Just too proud to take them. He was dx'd 5 years ago.

Again, thanks so much, and my fingers are crossed for my dad every day. Smile

I'd be doing better if the Packers were winning! Wink Game is tied with under two minutes to go.
