Hi, Carmen,

How's work, or is that a bad question? I was trying to keep my head down and keep out of trouble for the last 3 days, then this morning I had to call a code blue on a patient I had in the gym. That blew it. And I have the worst of all meetings an hour before I finally finish on Thursday. Counting down the minutes.....tick, tick, tick.....

The job is just what it is, the job at the moment, see the Pdoc today and see if he is willing to be agreeable to giving me the letter I need, my therapist said he can be a pain sometimes, can't really blame him, as I am sure he has close to if not over a 1,000 patients that he has to see, he's at mental health..

How is your patient doing? everything ok? I know that you have to be counting down the minutes, most jobs try and make your life miserable when you are leaving.

Don't know about the patient yet, they took him off to the acute hospital. Hope he gets back to rehab, he was nearly going home and was really great to work with.

I'll send up a prayer that he is ok and makes it back soon, I know that you have to worry about them, yesterday we had really bad rains, the floor was getting wet right in front of the doors, I was concerned with customers trying to come in and slipping, I did everything I could to insure that they didn't, and it seemed that management didn't give a shit.. could have beat someone over that one, I don't care if the company gets sued, that doesn't matter, but if one of my senior customers fall it could mean life or death for them, they get so frail that a slip would break hips, legs, crack their heads open, etc.. They have trouble enough getting around never mind a wet floor.

Most of them I know stay home during bad weather like that, but if you need medication to keep you alive, you don't have much of a choice but to come out in the rain/snow etc..

well, as much as I hate the thought, time for me to go crawl into some clothes and get ready to get out of here, will check in before leaving the house.

I really agree with the risks for elderly people in those situations. After a fractured hip a large % die and another large % never walk again.

Carmen, does that mean you finally are getting some rain?

Definitely watch out for the elderly, though. My grandfather broke a hip and never walked again - he was in a nursing home and had Alzheimer's. After the broken hip, he got worse pretty fast.

I like people until they give me reason not to, she said. Some days they just drop like flies, though, she added. - Brian Andreas
