MDJunction to me

"In the 3 months I have been with MDJunction I have developed a sense of calmness. I now friends who do not judge me because I have been a mental mess at times. It is such a good feeling to have friends I can tell my deepest thoughts and always get back to me with their support. I have never seen a therapist for long periods of time. Right or wrong, this is the best therapy possible for me. Thanks Roy for getting this up and running and making such a difference in my life. Sara" (saralaurie)

Hey y'all, anyone know where the staple gun is? lol, haven't figured out what to do about the cat yet, but will, Graph, getting that screen at lowes is the problem, we live in a trailer, about the only place you can get one that fits is a trailer supply place, and the nearest one is about 40 or so miles away..not to mention pricey.. these will work, as soon as we work out some kinks..

We've figured out what to do with the one side, of the back door, just staple the thing down, and add extra Velcro to the other, perhaps with some extra Velcro and some added weight to the bottom piece the cat won't be able to get in, on the front door, we have the challenge of being able to install it short of having to take the storm door off, Glenn was talking about taking the glass panels off it, but I don't know that that is such a good idea..the thing is held on now by screws and washers, if we remove them and strip out a hole, we're in trouble, taking it off and storing it up in the shed isn't going to hurt anything, but what I am figuring, we have 80" in the length of the screen, the door casing is 71, so we could roll up the top till it hits 72" and then just screw the top piece in above the door, the width of it, is 37" and it looks like the door is about 34 or so..haven't measured it yet, but it is no big deal in dealing with.. extra Velcro and and some white duct tape takes care of that, add some more weight to the bottom of it, and I can have both doors open.. when it is nice, I love having the house opened up, the windows in this thing are screwed shut, probably cause they are ready to fall out of their frames, so that leaves out opening them up, the doors are the only options, I have been leaving them open, but the flies are horrible this year, it's down to which is the lesser evil, opening the doors and having flies in the house, or closing the doors and having to run up the electric bill (lots of money we don't have) being the type of person I am, I am searching for a compromise.. I'm not one of those run out and buy things people, it's take what is on hand, and figure out what you can do with it..and maybe a little money output to go with it.., it's like having a party you want to make a cake for and the blender goes out, you do the next best thing, grab the drill driver and a beater, and there you go...lol, and yes, I've done this.. it wasn't on a cake, but mashed potato's for the thanksgiving dinner one year....lol..

Just call me the female version of Mcgavor, (sp?) when you have worked on a water budget with champagne tastes for as long as I have, you learn to do with what you have. I drive Glenn nuts with it, but later he comes to appreciate it.

Norma, you will picture yourself here on the island with no stress, this will help keep you calm, and then the others can be calm, worse comes to worse, lock yourself in the bathroom till the feeling passes..lol..

Good Morning Everyone! Ty Carmen, I will start the Invega tonight. I have a bad habit of panicing about new meds. Hope everyone is doing well this morning! I have the day off so I am hoping to get a jolt of energy and get my house all cleaned up (times like this I wouldn't mind just a bit of mania lol) I made my usual list of "things to do today" which of course I won't even get half of it done, but I still make the lists and go overboard with them lol. I guess I will be happy to get my floors mopped and the dusting done. Which of course means I will have to herd all my babies to their crates and that in itself is a HUGE chore. I have 2 yellow labs, a pomeranian and a chi. and 4 cats that love to chase the mop. Yes I prefer animals to people most times lol. They love me no matter what kind of mood I'm in and they never judge me. Well, sorry for rambling on lol....Y'all be sweet!

Hey Krissy, glad to hear that you are going to start your meds, for me I was a little tiny bit scared, but my fear of continuing to live in that black hole of depression that I have lived in most of my life, far outweighed the fear of medications.

Started my meds back in July/August of last year and for the first time in my life, I can see life with out the black shade of depression. I have all the same moods as anyone else here on this planet, but mine are not as extreme as they were..

Y'all, I am armed and dangerous , I have a staple gun and I know how to use it.. probably a good thing I am not pmsing or someone would be walking around with puncture wounds..

Waddled up to the shed, (yes, waddled with my shape you can't do much more than that) searched a little found three boxes of staples, searched a little more and found a staple gun that the staples will actually fit, cleaned it up a little, (rusty from abuse) put some WD-40 on it, and it works just fine.. now to go staple the one side of the door and across the top as the velcro decided to detach it's self from the wall this morning.. so far so good, back door open all night and has been so far this AM, no flies..

WOOOO HOOOO for the screen and you Carmen!

Terri, welcome to High Speed.

Norma, put on your ruby slippers and click your heals together three times and repeat after me "THERE'S NO PLACE LIKE HOME, THERE'S NO PLACE LIKE HOME..." and walk around all day with a Jack Nicholson smile from The Shining. They will run the other direction.

Mornin Krissy, welcome to the Anyone Awake - Beach.

If I have missed anyone... HOWDY!

Good Morning my friend, how are you doing this AM? better? Thanks for the Woooo Hoooo on the screens can't tell you how nice it is to be sitting here in the computer room with a nice breeze coming in the back door..

When Glenn gets home from work, we'll put up the front screen and then we will be set, weather is suppose to be really nice for the next few days, and it will be killer to have the doors open

Thanks Carmen! I've been on (and off) meds since I was 13. I take a handful every day. The Invega is just a new one to add to my list *sigh* And being that I had never heard of it, I'm scared of how it will make me feel. It's an antipsychotic. doc thinks I'm headed towards a a psychotic mania so she's trying to ward it off. How she can tell is beyond me....might have something to do with the fact that she's been my dr for 5 years lol. But I called her and told her I haven't started it yet and she listened to my fears and let me know that I shouldn't have any wierd side affects. It is supposed to be fairly fast working sooooo...we will see. Thanx again for your support and WTG on winning the war of the screens! lol. You sound like a really handy person! Flies are so bad here that when we open the door, the ones inside rush and stand guard at the door so as not to let new ones in and take their place....I keep hoping they will get tired of this heat and move North for the summer..

I understand the med thing, I was taking 9 twice a day, but now I am down to 6 in the morning, 1 at lunch and 5 in the evenings, the joys of being a diabetic along with everything else.. I'm glad your doctor listened and that you listened to your doctor, it's important to have that trust thing between you and your doctor..

have you got screens on the door? or do you have the same challenge that I had? these ones that I have work just about on anything, mobile homes/trailers, rv's, etc.. didn't know that flies go away..rofl.. their year round pests here pretty much, now during the winter, they are not much of a problem as it can get down to 20 or less, but during the spring/summer/fall time they are terrible, and seem to be worse than normal this year.

Havein a better day Carmen. Found the last missing part to my tractor yesterday. Working on getting to hear it run today. Never heard it run before. Bought it out of a fence row for a song and have been doing a rebuild/remanufacture on it ever since. Needless to say I need it in the worse way. Been doing maint on the lawnmower for wife this morning and sharpening some of the tools.

Keep up the good work Norma!

BTW today is our anniversary.
