Yeah, you are right, Crystal. I guess I have to own up to the fact that I felt manipulated by her sending me a card, but that in and of itself, her sending me a card, is really a neutral event.

It's my "family guilt"-trip thing that got switched on ...

You know, that's a good idea! It wasn't actually something I said, it was that I just isolated myself suddenly from all of my family when my father was dying ...

I could write a letter just as an exercise for myself. Then I could decide later whether I wanted to send it or not ...

No, you didn't say anything wrong, Crystal. I just had something weird going on with my computer and I had to contend with that while I was trying to write to you also.

Need help with folks opinions. My bipolar son is dating a new girl she is also bipolar but does not have the same family support my son has. She is not good about taking her medication. He seems to be so far ahead of her with dealing with his illness. I am trying to have compassion but he is my first concern. I also just lost my job a few weeks ago and that is bring stress into the family. With this illness managing stress levels is very important. The holidays alone bring stress with money and lots of additional "family" dynamics. I try and point out to my son that with dating a girl who has her own issues to deal with he is asking for additional loads he might not be able to take on but he seems to gravitate to this. What do I do?
