hey my names christie im in my late tenns

was diagnosed with bipolor when i was 14 but was told it was likely i inherited from my mothers side as i started first displaying symptoms at a young age

i have never met anyone else with the same disorder

and would really like to talk to someone who can let me know how to deal with it

im on an anti-depressent called dosulpin 75mg however i am still finding it hard to stablise my moodswings

i have found it very differcult to find a job but am happy now as a cleaner and have made some good friends.

i love to make new friends so please talk to me

i like to try and stay positive and to try and drag myself out of my low side although sometimes i have to give up trying

my mind seems to wander easily then i seem to have a thousand thought processes at once and just get agitated

i think more then i talk and tend to worry about things that i think will happen

i try to let people think im dippy so i dont look to stupid when i swing to hyper mode

Hi Christie...there are lots of people here who have bipolar disease. And many of us, myself included lead normal lives. My son is 25 and he has it too...also, there is a Bipolar Teens Group...so you might want to check out that group also, and again welcome.

they are terms to explain bipolar....my understanding in one the symptoms are less severe and the episodes are less frequent. I have a less sever type and as long as I don't drink alcohol and get enough sleep the symptoms are minor....my son has a more severe type and needs meds to stay stable. Both are treatable with meds and a life style that is healthy....lots of people have bipolar disease. I have 5 people who work for me and they all take meds and function fine...

Welcome Christie, You are not alone, I have bipolar 1, below is a link with the definition of the differences. I really does help to talk about your feelings, and this is a good place to do so.Alot of caring people dealing with the same issues as you.

Welcome Christie,

I have BP 1. I hope you feel as at home here as I have. There are a lot of folks just like you here. You are never alone.

PS - I have read your poetry. I am not a poet myself, but have great appreciation for those who are verbally gifted. Keep up the good work.
