Hi everyone. I am here because of years of being just well... I have been dealing with episodes for so long that it has become such a part of me. I have never really sought treatment before so I am in a new phase of my life at 40. I really am here to learn and listen and perhaps understand what is really going on with me??? I feel lonly in a room full of people and have no idea why? So hopefully I will learn more about me by getting to know you.

Cristal, welcome to the group. You are in good company here. Learn all you can, ask questions, leave replies, vent and make some new friends.

You should seek the council of medical profesionals also. While we give advise and tell of our life experiences it is not a substitute for professional medical attention.

We are here for you, YOU ARE NOT ALONE!

GOD BLESS

RED

Hi Cristal! My name's Lisa and Ive been dealing w/ Bipolar since a teen. Didn't get diagnosed till I was near 30.( i am 43 now)

I take lithium every day but try to stay as low dose as possible. It kinda keeps the extremes of the highs and lows at bay, but I still go up and down. I know I can't go off, even though I'd like to ,cause I've experienced enough heavy episodes that I would never want to visit again. Life is mostly good.

Like you I feel lonely sometimes, but I think that those feelings are normal. Sometimes it just takes one person you can relate to--- that can make me feel connected. You are not alone!---Lisa

Thank you...

Right now I just feel a little lost. Almost like my whole life has had a hole in it I did not know about. For years I just thought I was a real energetic person with adventurous tendencies and was passionate about many things; enough to lead to angry episodes, crying, irrational thinking, and carelessness followed by guilt and horrible depression hahaha. I have recently started consulting professionals who can lead me to some relief and a diagnosis. I have done so much research on what is wrong with me and tried to understand mental illness but bipolar just fits because of the diversity of my emotional ups and downs. I am very fortunate to have my husband, who is like you, willing to do anything to see me feel good about myself. Bless him, he says I am beautiful and wonderful no matter what I think and insists on opposing my self "bashing". Despite everything I have put him through he sees a me that I fail to see. Just being able to read other peoples stories and vent is awesome. Thanks for the encouragement and support.

Hi Crystal,

Welcome. It's never too late to start to have a happy life.

I have bipolar 1, and have started meds, and treatment a year ago.

This forum have been very supportive.

I thought the same thing you did. I thought, I was just a free spirit, and had a lot of energy. I relate to everything you just described.

I also have a very understanding fiance, who has whip lash from my mood swings.

Hang out, vent, and ask as many questions as you like.

We are here for you.

God Bless,Gypsy
