 My name is Stephanie. I have been with my boyfriend for 5 years. I am 18, he is 19. I love him with all my heart and am putting all i can into our relationship but I'm running out of energy. I need help getting through our fighting. I really hope I can get help here. He went to a support group and sent me a copy of what he wrote so maybe that will help.

 no he does not know. we just got done fighting and I needed to talk to someone so I searched for a support group. I just thought what he wrote explained what was going on well.

 If I was with someone who was that out of control I would have to stop and think before continuing in the relationship. That is my opinion and you may hear opposing ones. Maybe he can get help, and maybe it will work, and maybe you will be happy. That is a lot of maybe's.

He has to want help...and stick with getting it...so I see your point in posting his e-mail. But, he may not like it. Get some good advice from a clergyperson, your folks, or someone whose judgment you trust. My advice is take it easy before making a permanent committment like marriage.

 I may be willing to disregard a harsh word or two here or there, but threatening you with violence is just unforgivable. Why would you want to have kids with someone who was so volatile? There are some extremely weird dynamics between those who love people with bipolar and the person with bipolar. I am learning so much from this forum, you will too, Steffilynn... just go ahead and listen to what these folks are telling you. They KNOW!
