Thanks Carmen. Since I posted last the administrator here cautioned me strongly against promoting my book. I think he is concerned that I used the link to the book page as my homepage.

I understand his concern. It's odd though. My recovery has gone well enough for me to put out a book about it but no one wants to let me talk about the book. Odd paradox.

How are you doing?

the Group leader promotes his book on this site so I don't see why you can't. There is another person on here that posts whole sections of his book. I would love to hear how you sought recovery. I am bipolar have been diagnosed since age 8 but have just in the past few years have truly started to understand what I go through and how to control it the best I can.
BE BLESSED!

Hey bipolarmomma, Thanks for for the encouragment. My book is titled "You Me and apollo: Hope Beyond Bipolar Disorder" You can find it at www.lulu.com. If you can't get it to come up by title, just plug in my last name Stottlemire. I'm the only one of our clan with a book out there.

Namaste

J.D.

Sorry to hear you got scolded, but don't take it personally, I am sure that they are just being wary as there are so many leeches out there just looking for someone to take advantage of. With the hell that we have been through as a group and individually, we all wish for that magic wand or pill that will make us all better, I like to tell folks that my magic wand is still at the dry cleaners, lol. I probably am too bound in black and white for much therapy to actually sink through, I know they can't cure me, and i know that about all they can do is make suggestions and listen to me, but like in alcoholism, I have to want to make the change, and work towards that goal, no one can do it for me.

Good Luck on your book my friend, Doctors write books all the time, and most of the time it is from their "book" learning, not from experience, I would rather read someone that has been in the trenches with me. I use to work for a cylinder company that spent several thousands of dollars creating a "white" room, one thing they didn't take into consideration in their plans was the fact that there was no ventilation, and the control for the A/C was up stairs in a tiny office, so that when that room reached the temp set, it shut off and left the larger room downstairs sweltering.

Nobody else but me had the guts to say anything to them about this, I took our complaint to one of the "engineers" that helped design it, told him the air stank because of the grease we used, we had no airflow, etc..after my third complaint he came to me and told me how they would have to do a air quality study, I had to tell him to quit thinking like a "engineer" give me a hammer a chisel and a fan and a filter and I would fix the problem.. his book learning stopped him from being useful.. so I guess what I am trying to say here, is that because you are down in the trenches with us, your book will help someone out there that has no other way to find it.

Carmen

I think the point here is, if there is one sentence in your book that helps someone then AWESOME...they need to look past the political and beaurocratic bs they preach, free country and free speech and shushing people on certain levels such as not wanting someone to "promote" a book is right up there and is also part of the ignorance that promotes the sad stigma bp disorder is surrounded by...good for you and I will definitely be checking it out!

Wow Carmen! That was a great message. Can I take the first sentances from you second paragraph and post them as comments on my book's homepage? That is exactly the point of my book.

Thanks

J.D.

Hey J.D. you are welcome to any and all, when those of us who have been there write a book, it is a book from the heart.
