I'm Anne, I'm a new member to the group. I'm a rapid cycler Bipolar and I guess I'm just looking for a place where I can find some support. I see a therapist who is great. But I only see her about every 2-3 weeks. I'm lucky our insurance covers my visits, but only 25/yr. So I found this forum and I thought I could find some friends or pick up some pointers and get soem support. My husband is good, but I feel that he just doesn't get it sometimes. I look forward to interacting with anyone who needs me or when I need someone.

Hi, Anne, welcome to the group, you are going to find alots of support and understanding, we have some wonderful people here, and all of us, have suffered many of the things you have going on.

I am happy to hear that you have a therapist you like and that you are able to see her as often as you do, I'm currently going through mental health for my therapy and medications, and only see them now once every three months, sometimes it is fine and other times I wonder if maybe I need to see her more, Christi my therapist is a doll, I am very comfortable in talking with her.

Welcome Spywife,

Glad you have found us. I see you have jumped in. The water is just fine....LOL I have bipolar 1, and rapid cycling, too. We have a gardening club here on this forum. I love to garden, too. It's very theraputic. I also go to therapy. It really helps.

God Bless,Gypsy

Hi spy....glad you joined us. I know what you mean about husbands being great...but... lololol As wonderful as mine is, he just doesn't get it at times. He knows when it's coming and he gets the hell outta the way, lolol, but still he doesn't get it. I don't think we can expect them to. I hope to hell he never fully understands cause that would mean he has the disorder too. We have to keep ourselves grounded and be alert to our own triggers. Isolation works for me. Anger & tears are my big issues. If I allow myself, I can explode like a canon and just that fast. I still cry at the drop of a hat, but my shrink & I have resolved that I am just an old softie... lolol You will learn the ups & downs. You will learn what your triggers are, and you will be fine.

Love

Gloria

Thanks, My husband tries. I help him all I can and he is constantly learning. Did you check out my earlier blog about the book that I found helpful? It is also written for families and those who love people with BP. It might help you to get a better understanding, for ex. why even happy things can trigger an attack! But cudos to you for trying to understanding instead of just walking away! Anne (spy)

Thanks for the suport. It's great to find a place where people know exactly how I feel. I have felt so alone for so long even tho I have a good handle on my disease. It's just so lonely. I look forward to having someone to talk to when I need it. Anne
