Hey greg, welcome to our little home away from home. Great place here to talk with people in the same boat as you. Have you started your shrink visits? Have you been prescribed drugs to help contol the disorder, and do you have a therapist? Those are the 3 most importand parts to keeping this disorder under some control. Feel free to ask any and all questions. I personally am 58 yrs old & have been BP most of my life.

It does not have to rule your life, greg. May take a while to find just the right meds for you, but when the right ones mesh...you get a whole new outlook. I hope you find the comfort & support that I have.

Its good to know there are others going through the same thing I am. I'm wondering if alot of you feel a sense of fear that keeps you from doing normal everyday things or atleast makes doing them incredibly uncomfortable. Sometimes I just go from crying to screaming until I'm so tired I just become depressed beyond belief. I'm so uncomfortable and I'm scared that I'll feel this way the rest of my life.

greg, whether you are BP or so called normal, we all have our bad days. Don't expect life to turn into never-never land because you have a few pills. Normal is to laugh and cry and be angry and be satisfied and be needy. It also includes depression. Don't shy away from normal feelings, no matter what they may be. These diverse feelings are what make me stay balanced I believe. If I can feel them then I am real and my disorder is at bay. It's the numbnes and confusion and the fear that scare me. Control the disorder and you will be able to feel life again.

Hi Greg,

I defitely relate to what you are experiencing. That is mixed mania.

It is mentally, and emosionally painful. I just went through it off and on for about 4 mos. I finally got back on Lithium. It knocks ot right out. What meds have you tried? It's not good to stay in that mania for very long.

Amen Gloria,

Now, that, I am balanced, again,Whoo, I feel great. I can focus, feel feelings of love, and can get close to my kids. I am not so stuck in this illness. It was like walking through a mud bog, and a thorn bush at the same time. I suffered for 4 mos. It was horrible. Up and down, up, and down....lolol
