Hello. This is the first support group I've ever been in.I suffered from severe depression alternating with moods of feeling great energetic. These would turn inti rages, paranoia and terror. For 20 years I was treated for depression only Medication only worked for short period of time. I self medicated with alcohol and seditives and yet still couldn't sleep. I was miserable to be around. I could not deal with any stress I lost my marraige, and one daughter refuses to speak to me. I went for alcohol treatment and became manic. When I was Dx with BP my life was somewhat manageable, I am on the medication rollarcoaster. I'm a complete disaster in social situations. Today I lost all hope of ever being able to survive this disorder. Day to day is so hard.

Well that is me. Is there a soul out there who can relate to this

Business first;;; Welcome to the site. I hope we can bring you comfort and knowledge. We hope you can help us too. We are in a very scary place, us BP's. I have BPD, PTSD, and OCD. I am 58 and have had these disorders as long as I can remember. The med game is no fun. Back in the olden days...my era...lolol..... There was one psych med and all us crazies got it. Now they have prescriptions that actually do more than let you sleep walk. lol But you have to trust your shrink and do what he says. Finding just the right combination is like playing Russian roulette until you hit on them. But when you do, a whole new world opens right before your eyes. The tornado inside your head becomes a breeze, the monster in there becomes a shadow, and the confusion becomes a question you can find an answer to.

With the right meds you even start liking yourself a little. lol Don't know what you're taking , but I am on; Lexapro, Lamictal, and Seroquel. They are working wonderfully for me, however, I have only been on them for a year or so. Before that I had Trazadone and Paxil. They had worked for about 10 years, and then just stopped for me. You just never can tell. You go ahead and ask questions and vent and cuss and just anything you wanna do here. We are here for you and will help any way we can.

Love

Gloria

Anna, welcome to the group. Please hang around and let the nervousness subside. There is a great group of people here both those with bipolar and those of us that have a loved one with bipolar.

Yes there are many here that feel and have felt the way you do.

Feel free to ask questions, leave answers, read posts, vent and make some new friends.

God Bless

RED

Thank-you for such a warm welcome. I'm feeling a little bit more relaxed. I had been doing well until the last 2 months but now under trmendous stress from my ex, his wife and my older daughter about money( they want it). My meds are vary large doses, neurontin, lamictal, wellbutrin, serzone, buspar, and baclofen. I will see my pmd today to start amblify. I feel like a living pharmacy. I have multiple sclerosis and these new stresse play hell with that.

My plate is not just full it's pouring off. I hope the amblify will help.

Thank you for making me feel so welcome. I can't wait to tell my pmd about this. He's wanted me to do this for years.
