Hi Dixiemae,

I have been diagnosed for almost 6 years. I have been on every medicine you could think of and am now on no meds. per my doctor. The best thing I can tell you is now you know why you have been feeling bad and can take steps to try to deal. You will have ups and downs but there are alot of people here for advice and support. It's never wrong to ask questions, here and at your doctor. Just PM me if you want to talk sometime.

I have no medical training and give advice purely on personal experience. This in no way replaces proper medical attention.

Hey Dixie, welcome to the group, some of us have been diagnosed for a while and others like me have only been diagnosed for a short time, I got mine back in August of this year, and for me I look at it as a blessing, I finally had a answer to what I had been suffering with all my life, like Gypsy asked, are you on medications and therapy? if not you need to do so, as they will make a huge difference in your life, I am currently on Lamictal, the first medication I've tried for the bipolar, have taken a ton of antidepressants and they only worked for a while and then I would be back in the black hole.

We're glad to have you here, if you have questions please ask as there is someone here that would have experienced what you are going through.
