Terri if that hand keeps swelling you might want to consider going to the hospital and having it x-ray'd, you might have broke it, I believe I have broken my tail bone before, I've slipped a couple of times, once over a toy and went down about 10 steps on my butt, and a second time on ice, going down the steps at our own place, I am having to sit on pillows now to even be able to sit for a while here at the computer... drives my hubby nuts, he comes in to use the computer and here is the chair stacked up with pillows..lol, he fixed that set of stairs, after I fell and was able to get up from the yard, I went to where he was working and told him if he didn't fix it, I was hooking a chain up to them, and ripping them off the house, I had asked him 4 times before to fix me a little platform where I could get my balance prior to trying to go down the steps..

Mean aren't I?

The swelling is going down, and it's just a bruise, now. Also, I have a bruise in the middle of my back. I rested for a while and think I'll be fine. The joys of Ohio in the winter, lol!

I don't blame you about wanting your husband to fix the steps. Not mean at all if you got hurt. My fall is my own fault - should have gone out the front, where the porch covers the steps. I guess it's the dog's fault a little because when I tried to go out the front, he ran to the back. His little face looked so shocked when I fell, like "What did you do that for?".

Carmen,

Sorry about your tail bone, too. My mom broke hers once when we all went sled riding. She's a strong person and doesn't really complain much, but I could see on her face how much pain she was in. I was scared to sled ride ever since!

Hopefully your Mom isn't having much pain with her's, the first time I did it, I could not sit properly for over two weeks, the last time was over a month, my mom bless her heart, bought me a butt pillow..lol, you should have seen our kittens, I would get up and they would curl up in the little hole and go to sleep,

Carmen.

I need to ask - you're on Lamictal, right? Do you still have slight mood swings? My husband has been on since Oct., and I think I've mentioned that he's been a little manic these past few days. If it doesn't get much worse and if the depression is also less severe, I might be able to handle it. Just needed to ask.

Thanks,

Terri

Hey Terri, Yes I am on Lamictal, have been since August, and for me it has made a world of difference, I take 400mg per day, how much does your husband take?

I still have minor swings, but they are shortlived..

He also takes 400mg (2 - 200mg tablets). He also takes Remeron(sp.) and klonopin, not sure how much. He seems to be getting back to a more steady mood already, which is why I was wondering. Before, his manic episodes lasted a couple of weeks, and were much more out of control. He is doing pretty well, with just a little more energy to help around the house, but no huge personality change. If it wasn't for his comment about there being no such thing as bipolar, I might not even be sure there was a problem.

Thanks Again,

Terri

if he made that comment, watch him, he might decide that "he is better" and doesn't require his medications, if he seems to be having stronger cycles, and is still taking his meds, it might be time for a adjustment, we had to adjust mine from 300 to 400 because of mixed episodes. I wasn't sure if it was the illness or just my frustration at my husbands stupidity..lol.. I was going from blasting him good, to sitting there crying like some blathering idiot..Doc said it sounded like mixed so we upped it, and it worked, I haven't been through one since.

Definitely watching! He had also said that he wanted to talk to his doctor about cutting back the dose. Bad, becuase he is thinking he doesn't need it, but good that he wants to consult his doctor first. So, I keep watching!
