Why wear a ribbon?

MDJunction to me

"All I can say is that this has been the best place ever. It has been six to seven months since I joined, and I have learned so much. I now believe in myself and accept myself on a completely different level. The people on MDJunction has been so supportive and accepting that I have been able to adopt it into my personal life. That has reduced a lot of stress in my life. Thanks to all." (bunny_fly)

Well, I'm pretty much new. I didn't see this part of the site until after 9 posts. Hope I didn't break any rules.

Let's see, I am a Bi-Polar Type II; I have schizoaffective disorder, bi-polar type; I have PTSD, caused by having cancer 3 years ago; I have little threshhold for social interaction; and social anxiety.

I take Lythium, Guanfacine, prevenazine, and benzatropine for the different issues I have.

So, with that being said; I would like to say hello to everyone. I have only posted 9 times and received back 6 or more replies. If those are the tip of the ice berg I am looking forward to more and more responses from promising friends.

I've been looking for something since I can't really make friends well. A supportive husband and 2 kids can only take so much of a person going over and over the same thing. I think I have found the promised land!

I can't wait to hear from everybody on the site, and to participate here as well.!

Welcome...there are no real strict rules here, Dawn. Everyone tries to be nice to each other. It helps if you are addressing a particular person to say their name in the post. We have many members and lots of different personalities and stories. I think our common bond is the fact that we care about each other and try to help as best we can.

YOU can't post too much, and your comments and insights are a welcome addition to the forum. Glad you are here. Make yourself comfortable...

Hi Dawn!

I just wanted to again welcome you to the group, and reinforce what Norma already said.

There are not many rules here - and you should feel comfortable in posting any time you want about anything you need to, and you can be certain that we will all give answers if we have them, and support if we don't. Either way, we're here for you.

There's An Off-Topic Lounge in the Bipolar Support Group where you can discuss anything on your mind, even if it is not necessarily related to bipolar! There's a poetry corner there, art of the day thread (which is fabulous), joke of the day thread, etc.

The OPINIONS thread is also located in the off-topic lounge... That's the thread where you go if you have a real strong opinion about another members point of view or anything for that matter, and think that what you have to say will be a little more than appropriate for a group discussion. There is a warning on the first page letting people know that it's uncensored, so if people are offended by what they read there, it's their own fault for reading it..

The only real "RULE" that I can think of to let you know about is related to that - we aren't censored or stifled at all, but during a discussion, people sometimes have conflicting points of view. We try to be courteous to each other, and cautious not to be offensive to other members; and if a discussion becomes too heated, it's always best to take it to the "OPINIONS" thread.

There are wonderful groupleaders here who can help you if you have any questions or concerns... Don't be shy about approaching them by sending a PM (private message).

Have fun familiarizing yourself with the site!!!
