i have had an unspecified mood disorder for a few years now and also ADD, OCD, and GAD. ive been on topamax, abilify, trileptal, and klonopin. i am now taking 36mg of concerta in the morning, 20mg of geodon twice a day, and .5mg of klonopin twice a day. i also take 20mg of inderal up to three times a day based on how bad my tremors are.

i just recently started geodon and concerta, i was on ritalin for about a week but it wasnt working out so good so i switched to concerta.

haha thanks, id say so too!

the meds seem to be working ok right now, the most were worried about is geodon and weight gain (but so far concerta has kept me from eating lol) but when i started geodon about 6 days ago, i immediately noticed a change in mood and i was much more happy. but it was a weird happy, it was mania. so im experiencing mania with geodon. but the rest of my meds are ok.

thanks for asking! talk to ya soon!

Well it sounds like you're keeping track of what's making you do what, so that's always a good thing. I've had stuff that flat out didn't work, or stuff that worked for a while and then stopped and it took me a while to realize it because it'd be gradual or I just wouldn't notice until one day BOOM it slaps me in the face.

A lot of people have recommended keeping journals and tracking. I'm not one for journals. I try but I suck chunks at it. I seriously have the attention span of a bar fly. If you can do it, do it. Don't do the patented CydneyMentalNotes... they have a tendency to slip through the cracks. Grin

thank u, they seem to be working alright.

yea same thing happened to me - trileptal and abilify made me gain weight even if i didnt eat anything. i took topamax for like...almost a year when i realized that i was gradually and slowly gaining weight, besides the dosage i was on wasnt worth two craps. he had me on almost 200mg of it - 6 capsules in the morning and 7 at night, then he switched it to 7 in the morning and 6 at night and THEN he switched it to 8 in the morning and 7 at night..it was just insane.

ive been on some pretty weird combinations but ya know, mood disorders are just one of those things. so...what are you on? if you dont mind me asking. and how is it working?

aw why thank you! i know i have a friend in you certainly. anyone who will listen to a 'whack job' tell a story is definitely a friend of mine...

i am going back to my dr next wk for an update so i will definitely mention that i joined a forum as well.

although i recently noticed sinus infection-like symptoms from the geodon. i think i can deal with those as long as i dont get bronchitis or anything.

I have no idea what I'm on, I can't pronouse it. It's some big long name, at least as far as the anti depressants. I need the doc to raise them... it's a minor dose compared to what you take, about 60 I think, but I keep thinking I need 80. I really don't think I should be having the major swings and moods that last for days, and then she put me on Zyprexa (that I CAN spell) to deal with my panic attacks.

I'd never actually known what the hell they were before about oh... 6 months ago when I had my last HUGE breakdown and told her about them.

Then I slapped my forehead and went OH!

It's amazing how you can just deal with something and never mention it if you don't know any better. I've been having these all my life.

Idiot me. Grin
