Hello,

I'm new to the bipolar issue. I'm in my mid 20's and I just discovered I'm bipolar. I still feel confused about my feelings and I think I'm in heavy denial. I'll be looking forward to sharing my experiences with others and getting some feed back on this craziness.Smile

Well welcome to the group! I had a bout with denial the other night so I know where you're coming from! There's a lot of great people here who are very supportive so just shout when you're having a problem or need advice or a helping hand. Smile

Hello Casa, I am 41 and was dx in 2001, I was in denial until I took the working end of Tuarus 9 MM and tried to blow my head off with it. It was then I realized I needed help. I started taking meds and it took awhile to get the right drugs for my cocktail, but for the most part I am now stable. I have a girlfriend and her son that moved into my home with me. I love Erin with all my heart and she gives me the rest of what I needed to want to stay alive. When ever you want to chat about what is going on please contact me by PM I check the site several times through out the day so can get back to you in a short time I am sure. My name is Tom but most people call me Mech. Either name you need help call.

Hi Casa and welcome. This is a very supportive place glad your here. I've been living with bp for 20+ yrs (but only found out in 2007 that i have bipolar) i've had a lot of ups and downs over these yrs and have always had good supportive systems in place in order to get over whatever stresses i was having at the time). Since i've found MDJ i hardly suffer with lows anymore, i used to have a lot of them. I'm pleased to have a place to come to daily and not feel so alone ive even made friends here. This place has enabled me to learn a lot about myself and living with bipolar which has enabled me recognise and deal bp symptoms when they arise.

Feel free to post wherever you like or even start a new discussion. Smile

I've posted a few times and have had Bipolar disorder for more years than I can count but I'm still having trouble with ups and downs even though I take Wellbutrin, Zoloft, Stellazine, Topomax, and Dyseryl. I cycle very rapidly. Three times since yesterday and really don't know what else to do. Myoctor has been adjusting my medicine and adjusting it until I don't know how much more he can do. Maybe someone is going through the same thing? Appreciate any suggestions. Smile

I am also in my mid 20's and am struggling with the diagnosis. They have me on seroquel and lamatrogine. I keep thinking that they are wrong and am upset with the fact that I am always tired. I had about a week of highs when the pills were first introduced- but now I am very depressed. I dont know if its because of the diagnosis- or the pills.

I am here to try to feel normal about it all...

Hi Casa and welcome to the Bipolar place to be. I heard a new phrase I like today. Mentally Unique. Yep, that's me! Being here has made me feel less "Me against the world" and more "I am one of many, helping each other". We are all here becuase we suffer from Bipolar Depression. We all know a lot collectively, and have been through a lot.

Feel free to jump in and talk, ask questions, whatever.

"The only dumb question is the one you DON'T ask". My Dad told me that. Explained there were probably 20 other people afraid to ask it. Seems to have worked for me so far.

Thank you all for your support. I already feel hopeful knowing I have a place to come when I feel like my world is upside down. One question I do have for everyone is what kind of jobs are appropriate for a bipolar person? I let my job go in July because I couldn't handle it. I've been unemployed ever since and I'm afraid to go back to work anywhere.
