All year long I have had to make it through things that made me feel like I am walking on egg shells. This time is the worst I have been in a while. I am not married and have no SO. I guess my animals are my SO. Well, I had to get rid of most of them because they were taking over my house and CPS made me choose. So of course I chose my daughter. I was down to 3 of them and my dog had been my companion for 6 years. She got cancer and I finally had to put her to sleep. THe hardest thing but she was suffering and I didn't want that. I really expected to go into a depression from hell over that but the exact opposite happened. I became very very manic. That lasted about 6 or 7 days. Then I went to a mixed state. Lasted about a week. Now I have hit sever depression. I have been telling my dr for several months that the medicine is not working. I take effexor, Prozac, resperdal, and trazadone. He keeps insisting I just want more prozac because "its a feel good" drug.

I go thru MHMR because I have no insurance and can't keep a job to pay for this stuff. We get the worst doctors, Once and a while we get a dr. that is a bipolar doctor but for the most part I don't feel that they understand bipolar at all.

It has to stop. I don't know what to do. I hurt all over. Can't keep from crying. My son went away to college a few months ago and I miss him terribly. How do I make it stop. I can't take anymore of this.

Oh, Dear Ree,

SO So sorry to hear of your pain. I hope you get some help soon.

Have you thought of checking yourself into the hospital as an emergency patient? They have to do something for you. I hurt terribly when I was depressed all the time. My body ached and I was so hypersensitive sometimes I just hurt thinking about physical effort or touch.

Being in so much pain is real. It is proven the depressed are in a lot of pain. I'd just go to the ER and ask for help. Your doc sounds like a jerk to me.

Good Wishes.

Hey Ria, I am with Ms. here you need to get to a hospital and let them get you straightened out, I ain't sure what that doctor of yours is up too, but it doesn't sound like he knows what the heck he is doing in your case.

Hi ria,

I'm a graduate student right now and my semester ends next week. Do you think your son might be able to help you out a little inbetween semesters? I have young children and I think it would be really hard to lay my problems on them, but I also know that when my parent need help, like surgery or whatever, I'm always more than happy to help out. Just a thought, something to think about. Good luck, and keep going. We all know about the pain and stuff, it's real and we feel for you!

Run, run, as fast as you can, you can't catch me, I'm the Stinky Cheese Man!

Welcome,

I feel for you, too. I also know that not alot of bipolars can take anti depressants, and if you can find another pdoc, it might be a good idea.

I went through a terrible depression, that helped me get help just recently.

I hope you can find some help, too. There is some things you can do, in the meantime. Keep a regular schedule, eat chocolate, get a good support network. If you have family or friends you can check in with and call. Get into the sun, take a walk. Don't isolate. Take care of yourself. Know that you are important to your kids, and us. Keep us updated on your situation.

gog bless, Gypsy

Thank you for your concern. I am doing better now. The pdoc changed everything I tak and now I am on Lithium and Loxapine. The side effect that bothers me the most is not being able to see. Its like seeing without my glasses. But that is getting better now. The weight gain is also a problem for me but I feel more level than the continous extreme from high to low. Thanks to everyone for the support.

Rhiannon,

I am so glad to hear you were finally able to get a doctor to listen to you and change your medications. All meds are not created equal and sometimes we have to be our own advocate! It takes a lot to stand up for ourselves when it comes to doctors. I think a lot of that has to do with being confused and always questioning ourselves regarding if what we are feeling is real or just an xacerbated state of emotion. Getting eucated by researching bipolar can be empowering provided the medications used are not interfering with our ability to comprehend what we are reading.

Please keep us updated on how you are doing on the new meds.
