Just joined the community and wanted to introduce myself. I was diagnosed with bipolar several years ago and during the past year developed a severe substance addiction. I have been somewhat clean off and on for about 9 months now. I've not been to meetings or treatment, but keep telling myself that I 'should' go. Up until this past week, I've not had my own transportation as I lost my car during the height of the substance abuse. Now that I have a vehicle, I really have no reason not to go to some sort of meeting, I was hoping for DRA, but looks like NA may be the only one available in my area. Lots more to tell, as I'm sure there is with all of us, but I'll finish with the basics and let that cover it for now.

I'm 38 years old, live in the Oklahoma City metro area, work part-time, and am currently living with my Mother.

I'm a male in his early 40s and live in the Philadelphia area. I was diagnosed with Bipolar disorder a few years ago. I was having alot of trouble at work. Depressed mood, anxiety, worry, difficulty with coworkers. Episodes of not having good professional boundaries and still have impulsive behaviors. I can look back at my life and can see that I have had difficulty probably since my childhood. I was being treated by a Psychiatrist and saw a therapist (social worker) for a couple of years. I am still in the continued search for mood stability. I don't like to be a burden to anyone. I'm not sure, but maybe I can learn something from other people.
