Hi everyone, I am also bipolar since I was 18years old. Now 50 and still trying to find the right meds to make and keep me feeling good...I usually suffer from the high of bp. but lately have been depressed and need to find a med to help. I use the Veterans Association for my treatment but due to very poor treatment I am reaching out to other options. I hope you all can help me. I am presently taking Tegretol and Seroquel for sleep. I have Vistaril for anxiety during the day. but find myself laying on couch more than I use to.

I hope to hear from everyone.

Gail

Can anyone suggest something that will make me feel less depressed without the racy side effect that is dangerous for me.

Oh yeah, no insurance and no job. Have not felt good to work, and no disability either. I need to go to Social Security and see if they can help me get some money. I have not worked alot in my life so not sure.

Hi Flowers, I am also BP1 and I'm on a lot of meds we call it my calming cocktail at home. I wish I could tell you what would make you feel better. Have you talked to you pdoc latly and let him/her know whats going on. Talk to him/her first kay? Because all medications work differently for different people. You know what works for me may make you really sick. Any who, I'm glad your with us. I'm pretty new and I can tell you this is the best group of people I have ever met. Keep coming around ok. Jeanne

Thanks Jeanne, I have a terrible doctor at the VA. They have no time for you and that is not good when you need to change or add meds...I am looking into other options as we speak like low cost clinics. Thanks so much for your time. I know all meds work different on people but I know that alot of the anti-depressants are not good for mainly manic bipolar. I tried prozac and it made me feel to jittery and nervous.
