Geekgirl, yes I think ultra happiness will always be part of the disorder, along with ultra sadness. All things are possible (mood wise).

My wife's natural state is hypomania. Prior to diagnosis and medication the level of mood which she opperated at as her normal was hypomanic.

Hi Norma-

I agree so much that stability is pretty important. I had a very unstable youth, so stability is a foreign concept in my nature. All the same I crave a stable life.

Happiness is not a bad thing, and please don't think I am complaining. I love being happy for once in so long. It's fantastic

Hi Red-

I can imagine operating within the illness. I wish I were able to be that way again. In the event that I can't I have decided to make a way for me to make a living that accommodates all my bipolar needs. I am fortunate to be in this situation where I can do this. I wasn't always in this position. However, I really believe, especially for bipolars, that when we set our minds to something we can do some pretty incredible things.
