Kimmie~

I find it hard to be shy when people above me, are only above me because of the order of the responses.

Gloria, while I found the story amusing and far too often a sign of our times. I would like to add a thought if I might, while telling the truth is by far extremely important (essential), it is the manner in which we tell the truth to an individual. The exact same information (truth) can be given in many ways. Each approach to giving said information can and usually does give a different response from the reader. The thing that I guess I hope to get out here is that we tell the truth in a manner to which it will be of the most use to the reader. Love begets love, understanding begets understanding, support begets support and aggression begets aggression. It is up to us to intentionally respond in a manner that will be of the greatest benefit to both the person we know is reading the post along with all of the people that we don't know are reading the posts.

You shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free.

God Bless

RED

Red, there are gentle souls that find unforgettable beauty in the small rippling stream down the side of the mountain. Then there are those who glorify the noise and mist of Niagara Falls. I can’t begin to know which are more attracted to gentle streams than to roaring rivers. I like to believe that most of us can see both as equally awe inspiring. I know your thoughts of, how, information is given are strong. I will never doubt your convictions. Though I salute your technique, I stand and rally behind mine. You are so correct when you point out the many ways that truth can be given. I must assume that means you recognize my way as one of those many. Your hope, as is mine, is to deliver that truth in a manner that best benefits those receiving it. Love does not always beget love. Understanding does not always beget understanding. Support does not always beget support, but aggression most certainly gets attention. That, red, is my goal. The reason I belong to this site. My purpose is to grab that lost soul seeking support and scream in their face if that’s what it takes. They come here weak and desperate. They come for answers and suggestions and someone to help them see up and out of a dark hole of misery. I live in their shoes every time I read their posts. I wouldn’t want a gentle pat on the back. I wouldn’t want to be placated with, “Oh dear it will all be OK” …... It is your intent, red, to speak to all of those people reading your posts, but it is not mine. I am there to help that original poster. It is just that other way of delivering truth that you so generously pointed out.

Gloria.

If he is infinitely good, what reason do we have to fear him? If he is infinitely wise, why should we have doubts concerning our future? If he knows all, why warn him of our needs and fatigue him with our prayers? If he is everywhere, why erect temples to him?

-Percy Bysshe Shelley

Whoa, I was speaking in general terms, and from a place of pain regarding something that was said to me outside these forums. I was not referring to anyone in particular of anything that may have happened here.

Gloria,

You rock. Rock On!

I'm just going to say that if I wanted gentle fluff, I'd tell my husband my problems...then I'd get "It's going to be okay" or "We'll make it through this like everything else" or "Can I get you anything?" Sometimes I need to hear reality, a different point of view to get me off my pitty pot. And reality is a bitch sometimes. Gloria, it's because the tone of the posts I've read here are pretty direct, supportive and matter-of-fact that I'm still here, still benefiting from stories, suggestions, motivations and sometimes, necessary swift reality kicks. Thanks for your wisdom and courage.
