Hey, Kev, welcome to the group, glad to have you here, I've never gotten in to those, so I can't say either way, I see a lot of people at work that buy them all the time..some at least once a day.

Hi Kev! Thanks for joining us... welcome!!! You pose a very compelling question... I'm not sure if they are addicting or not; I've had them a few times, and never felt as though I'd just die if I couldn't get my hands on another one, but I do know people who drink them constantly, and claim they have no energy if they don't. BY THE WAY- JUST F.Y.I.- Those drinks are EXTREMELY HIGH in calories and carbs.... not a good choice if you're trying to shed a few!!!

My ex-suspected BP (undiagnosed) BF drank 3-4 "MONSTER" energy drinks (the sugar-free ones) + about 6 cups of coffee per day and did not eat. He had cases of MONSTER in the garage and wouldn't let me return any of them to Costco. He was completely addicted to them. That stuff is poison.

This could explain the situation with my bp co-worker.

She drinks these energy drinks all day long at work.

She's usually either laughing and way too loud, or,

has her head down and crying.

Tells off customers and makes them feel like

crap just for showing up at the door.

(duh, without them we wouldn't have JOBS,

but this seems to elude her...)

She's always talking about

her p-doc changing her meds and

I wonder if she tells her dr. how

many of these drinks she downs all day.

She seems to live on those drinks and

pretzels.

Those energy drinks did not cause any mood swings that I could register. My ex was kinda introverted, except when he was hypomanic. He needed those drinks just to stay awake because he was involved in too many (unnecessary) activities in addition to work and hardly slept or ate. So he was operating on people with nothing more than caffeine and Nicotine in his system. And, thought there was nothing wrong with this!

Oh, forgot to mention, he also ate salty trail mix (not pretzels, but close!).
