she was diagnosed in december 2007 when she wrote a suicide note, thank God she gave it to me instead of acting on it and all the doctor did was put her in ICU overnite for oberservation and let her go home the next day, that was it.

God, that must have scared the hell out of you...my heart goes out to you, honey. I think an appointment at the doctor would be in order. Sometimes, being a pain in the rear is called for to get help for your child...ask for an assesment. And since she was suicidal in the past you make sure they listen to you...and she needs talk therapy with the meds at that age...I can't belive they did not schedule visits as follow up...you must be pulling the hair out of your head...I would!!!

She gets both, and the thing is she is not our only child, we have 3 other girls besides Kassie. She gets agitated really easily. Her grades were really bad until we increased the concerta (was 36mg, up to 56 mg 2 months ago). Grades have improved since then. All of a sudden, Friday, she just started acting bizzare and I don't know what happened.

We had her in group therapy at a mental health place here, not much help AT ALL....just a waste if you really want to know the truth. I have begged doctors to help, to put her in a hospital environment to monitor her meds until she is stable, because i don't understand it all like a doctor does, but doesn't seem anyone wants to help.

Here are some suggestions that helped me with my son:

keep a mood chart...with daily mood changes, med dosages and times taken, sleep patterns, menstural cycle, activities, etc. It helps to bring it to the doctor..when you go for appointments. chart irritability, odd behavior, anger, etc...also, good moods, concentration, etc.

in the event you even remotely think she may hurt herself, do not hesitate to take her to the emergency room.

Looks like you make sure she takes her meds...but, would be better if she asks for them at the appropriate times herself. It makes her have some responsibility for taking them.

Some meds take time to work so be patient...and keep posting here if you want...I remember the nights I sat up worrying about my son before he was stabilized recently after an episode...it was hell...so If i can be here for you I would be glad to...us moms have to stick together.

Just read the indications on the packaging for the meds...and get the doctor to give you a phone number that you can call in the event of an emergency..my experience is that doctors give small doses and gradually increase the dose...
