HI Maggie,

Your son's behavior is similar to your son's. He has bipolar, and ADHD.

His dad left when he was 5 yrs old, and hasn't contacted him since.

He seems to crave male attention.

Maybe your son is hoping his dad will do his projects with him, and gets upset, because he is dissappointed. It's also a sign that he feels safe enouph to lose control with you.

My son had some behaviors awhile ago, that wouldn't go away. I tried therapy, consequences, and he has a PSR worker. Nothing worked. Finally we had he meds changed, and he is doing so much better. He is still emotional, but it's tolerable, now.

I know how frustrating it is to have a bipolar child. We were really worried, that he would end up in the hospital,or detention.

I have researched parenting a bipolar child online, and this helped, too.
