Sad I didn't know where to post this at first so I just sent it to Luvmy3boys. Sorry! Anyway, I've been married 31 yrs to the same man and last time I was manic I was more than willing to please him sexually now since I've came down I have no desire for sex at all. I'm on depakote, abilify,luvox, and ativan. My husband is so frustrated with me. Seems like we could get in a war over this before we even start. mamapatty

It's not uncommon to lose your sex drive living with bipolar and being on meds. Keeping your communication open with him will help (ex. telling him you've come down from mania). If he is still frusterated, you may consider seeing a marriage councillor.

Exercise may help your sex drive. It increases your testosterone, which in turn increases your sex drive.

I have the lost sex drive and an additional problem of having a tumor which cuts off the signals for hormone production and testosterone. I just try to explain how I am feeling and the loss of drive and sometimes it comes out ok.
Lithium 1500 mg

My sex drive is out of control sometimes and then,"POOF" it is dead. I think it is just part of being bipolar.
Lamictal 150 mg twice a day
Geodone 180 mg. at bed time
Klonopin as needed or 2 mg. 3 X per day
Benadryl 2 doses of 50 mg. bed time
Ambien 2 doses 10 mg. at bed time

Lorazapam as needed or twice a day

My sex drive is insationable sometimes. I think first thing in morning and then before bed would be A++++ but doesn't work like that in life. Sometimes I go a couple days without then want it like three times a day. Sometimes I feel like going without sex makes me crazy. In reality it's called being horny, lol.

I realized that I had no sex drive when I was taking Lamictal. Don't know why but when I got off of it I was finally able to have an orgasm after 4 months of not having one! Not doing Lamictal again!
