MDJunction to me

Macv"For me, MDjunction has been a place where I can share my experiences
living with the very rare bone disease called Ollier's ( Enchondromatosis ) with the parents of children recently diagnosed. I can help them not to run
into the pitfalls my parents did when I was young, give them a bit of a view
from their child's perspective and simply be there to offer support and
hope to people who are scared and just had their lives upended. I also belong to a chronic pain group and it's been a Godsend to be able to actually
talk with others who understand what I'm dealing with. Besides them helping me through my tough times, I can be there to help them as well. Here too, I can use my years of experience to help others avoid pitfalls and it makes me feel good, gives my life more purpose. MDjunction brings people
together when their suffering, at their darkest and feeling alone in this world and allows some light to be brought back into their lives. HOPE, that's what
MDjunction means to me!

I feel like my life has become a soap opera, and I am it's drama queen diva.

I don't want to beat a dead horse, but here is some background for those who do not read the "Anyone Awake" thread. My son is in the middle of a 15 month deployment to Iraq. He was here for two weeks on midtour leave earlier this month. I was doing ok coping with it until he went back Saturday before last.

My mother is 68, and has been having some odd problems with her heart rithym(sp?). She has been seeing her GP about this for over a month, has had a battery of tests, and they still don't know what is wrong.

We got word over the weekend, that my father-in-law, who lives in Germany, was in intensive care. He apparently had some sort of biopsy, then a few days latter developed severe breathing problems. They found that a bacteria had been introduced during the proceedure and found its' way to his lungs. I think he is doing much better now, but I'm not really sure on a prognosis for long term affects.

I have been worried out of my mind for so long, I don't know which way is up anymore. I was really down for a couple of days after my son went back, but seemed to bounce back last week. I stayed busy cleaning, visiting my mom, etc. Then, yesterday I was so down that I did could barely function. I tried to nap in the afternoon, but was having some odd thoughts. I drank too much coffee, didn't eat on schedule, and last night ate a lot of sugar trying to feel better. I woke up this morning feeling ok, but pretty iffy.

I always take my meds, but stress is a big trigger. I can't tell, though, if this is just normal worry and reaction or if there is a deeper issue that needs to be addressed by my psychiatrist. It is really scaring me. I don't want another psychotic episode.

I recently had a friend who said that I thrive on drama. Needless to say, he is no longer a friend. Blink But, could he be right? I am blowing this out of all proportion?

Thanks for reading,

DC

Dear DC...that sounds like some serious things going on in your life.

You are aware of the stresses...I would talk to the doc about them...if the doc knows what is going on in your life it helps to give better treatment...I always wondered what they were writing when I was talking...sometimes, I think the doc was playing tic-tac-toe with himselfLOL

seriously, having your son go to Iraq and illnesses in the family would be stressors for anyone...and as to the former friend who said you are drama queen...well, you already took care of that, didn't you, dear. hugs, Norma

Thank you, Norma.

I will probably write it all down for Dr. I have appointment next week. I just hate med changes. They always throw me into a tailspin, and I feel like I should get through this on my own. My husband is so I should be able to as well.

/hugs

We are here for you DC...good idea to write it down...for doc. Son had a med change and after a week we noticed the difference...called the doc's office and the nurse adjusted the dose on the phone...took a couple of days and he was fine...hugs, N

DC, that is a lot of stress to be under, it's bound to throw anyone off center, much less a Bipolar, do like Norma has suggested, write it down and share it with your doctor, they can help you get through this.
