reading some diary posts made me think of this song that just tells the "story of my life", even if that's trite. others had written their songs in diary posts. i thought i'd start a thread and see if we all have songs that tell the story of us:

Barenaked Ladies

i don't buy everything i read

i haven't even read everything i've bought

i don't cry every time i bleed

my eyes are dry but they're blood shot

i have faith in medication

i believe in the prozac nation

you play doctor while i've lost patience

this is where it ends

this is where it ends

call the police or call the press but please dear god don't tell my friends

this is where it ends

this is where it ends

where's my pride

where's my self esteem

does it show in the drinks i've bought

i don't hide every time i'm seen

but i try not to get caught

make excuses for behavior

can my illness be my savior

hid my heart while you still gave yours

refrain

she says she wants to live in a movie

i say i want someone else to stand behind me and write it all down cuz i can't be bothered doing it myself and i don't want the responsibility of proving its importantce

i have loved and i have waited

been picked up and been sedated

mental health is overrated

this is where it ends

this is where it ends

Well behaved women rarely make history.

Thou canst not disturb a flower without the troubling of a star...from "Troubling a Star", by Madelaine L'Engle...we all affect one another by our words and actions...it is our choice whether to do so purposefully and positively, or carelessly and hurtfully...may we all bring to one another the peace that we seek...

"if you want others to be happy, practice compassion. if you want to be happy, practice compassion" the Dahli Laama
Peace-

What a Wonderful World

I see trees of green, red roses too

I see them bloom for me and you

And I think to myself what a wonderful world.

I see skies of blue and clouds of white

The bright blessed day, the dark sacred night

And I think to myself what a wonderful world.

The colors of the rainbow so pretty in the sky

Are also on the faces of people going by

I see friends shaking hands saying how do you do

They're really saying I love you.

I hear babies crying, I watch them grow

They'll learn much more than I'll never know

And I think to myself what a wonderful world

Yes I think to myself what a wonderful world.

I like the Louis Armstrong version of this one.

It pretty much sums up what I think about life.

I am in love with living...

"In the time of your life, live-so that in that wondrous time you shall not add to the misery and sorrow of the world, but, shall smile to the infinite variety and mystery of it." William Saroyan

Life is a journey, not a destination.

Laissez les bons temps rouler.

Each day is a new canvas to paint upon. Make sure your picture is full of life and happiness, and at the end of the day you don't look at it and wish you had painted something different.

Life is a one way ticket, ain't no second time around. You better get all you can out of life, before your six feet in the ground.
