i LOVE my abilify. it has almost completely stopped my run on thoughts. it has lessened my nightmares. it has not made me gain weight. i take it with wellbutrin as i tend to get very depressed at times, but they add adderal to augment the wellbutrin which is one that's not known to cause the mania, and it works! i take klonopin for anxiety. i will never give up my abilify

Hi Serenity,

I have been on Abilify for about 3 years. It works very well at controlling psychosis without the zombie affect. I also take Lamictal for depression and Trileptal for anxiety. I have had no weight gain. The only sideaffect I noticed with Abilify is it energizes me so I take it in the mornings instead of bedtime.

I hope you find a good medication soon

I tried Abilify, and liked it. The racey feeling was too much for me. It did take care of my psychosis, though. Some people can take antidepressants with a mood stablizer along with them. I have tried this, and I had no luck with any of them.
God Bless,Gypsy

Hi Amandaq,

In my area, it runs around $375 for a 30 day supply. It is way over priced in the States just like all other medications.

There are some alternatives for those without insurance. The drug manufacturers offer a program for medication assistance, some states have medication assistance, and some local clinics offer it as well.

I'm sure one of the other members of the site will have some additional ideas for you.

Amanda,

Maybe you can call your pharmacy and see what they charge for it. I was without insurance for awhile and I shopped the medication just like I would anything else. I found a pharmacy that was willing to undercut any lower price I found. I believe it was Target.

I'm sorry. I know it is disheartening to see the costs involved.

/hugs
