Barleymanic: Agreed! I've had this happen in two other groups. It makes me not want to go back but who else is going to answer my questions. It's too bad.
I'm not a Doctor so please don't take my opinion as one. I am here to help with the knowledge I have obtained.

I look at it this way. I am a christian and go to church and have bipolar. To me church is just a portion of my treatment. I come here to share ideas. I will pray for a person if they ask and are in dire need. Really if you are coming here preaching, why are you here. We don't need to be saved. It is not gods will or prophecy for someone to perform miracles on us. If someone comes here and others listen and there is a death due to stopping meds, who is liable? I frankly consider this trolling and judgmental. There are people I'd like to get to know or help, but can't because they use their religion as a front or prosperity theology.
My experience is no substitute for sound medical advice.

I may be a bit confused, but what is wrong with a person believing that their religion is the one true way? as long as a person isn't actually telling others that they need to believe the same thing or else, what does that matter? who does that actually hurt? I understand not forcing anything on anyone, be it beliefs or even forms of tresatment. But I will say that I believe there is good in all religions but then I believe mine is the true way, that is the common belief among all lds (aka Mormons) and I will defend this belief by saying this- I would not be offended if anyone of any other religion were to feel the same way because if we did not actually believe that it was right or true, how then could we hold any value to our beliefs in the first place? without the feeling or belief that something is real or true, it is left void and meaningless. If I did feel led to pray for someone I would either just do it without saying anything, or ask if it was ok. I would not just straight out say i'm praying for you because I know that could be considered offensive, that being said it would annoy but usually not offend me if someone of another religion were to say something about sending energy my way, or anything similar to that, because to me that's a silly idea, just as to some the thought of sending prayers is silly. I know this is all such a touchy subject, but i'm thankful for the "rules" at least we have clear guidelines on what not to do.

I and many others here say things like "I will pray for you" or "you are in my thoughts and prayers" these terms are acceptable around here.

There is a sticky thread (always there) under Forums under Lounge (off topics) called 'Belief or lack there of world wide' that thread can be open anytime to appear on the board feel free to use it, here is the Link

I'm sorry you feel you are being "pushed" toward the religion thread. Feel free to go there and post or don't - it is completely up to you and what you are comfortable with. And I will reiterate what I said in an earlier post to you and what Dit said above. That is that we are constantly offering prayers and positive thoughts to one another without having to ask - no one gets offended by that. I am not personally religious, but it makes me feel good to know that there are people saying a prayer for me out there.

People frequently will talk about the fact that they couldn't have gotten through "such and such" or "this and that" without their god, faith or belief system. There is nothing wrong with that. However, the board is one of support and not controversy and if members want to debate religion or faith, we don't want that on the general support boards. But we don't want to kick anyone out or make them feel unwanted if they want to talk more in depth about religion, so we have created a safe thread where our members are allowed to have those conversations and debates if they choose to do so.

Personally, I do not think that this board is judgmental in general. Yes, you are going to run across particular people that rub you the wrong way or that may come across as judgmental - that's because we are all individuals here. But as a whole, I personally find this place to be welcoming and safe. I hope you will give us more time and try a few posts before you make a decision about the nature of our group.

Day by day.

ok whatever. feel has nothing to do with it. 6 times now I've been told to go there. I will if I feel like it. but when 6 times I've been told to do something, that's not me "feeling" anything. that's fact. its funny though I ask a simple question but instead of answers I get "go here" I am not debating anything either. I am not the type of person to really debate at all. I have already decided what this group appears to be but as stated in another post I plan to give it a chance. which i'm assuming you've already read that, why else would you comment on that which I said somewhere else, not here? I am just trying to figure out if this really is a safe place, or if I need to give up on that concept altogether. btw is there a way to block "hugs"?

One last thing, just want to make sure I understand the rules. If I want to post anything with any kind of religious aspect, regardless of the main point, it has to be in that beliefs or lack of thread? even if it isn't exactly just expressing my beliefs? examples, what if I wanted to ask a question regarding holidays, an experience of an episode that involved a priesthood blessing, sharing of scriptures that help get through the rough patches, stuff like that? does it all have to be confined to that one thread even if it doesn't actually relate to the title of the thread? It seems to me that for me at least that would be very confusing, because people could be talking about various different topics on one thread how would people know which particular topic was being discussed at any given moment. btw I don't actually intend to post any of those example topics. well maybe one but for now not really. I just want to understand the rules so I don't mess up and get banned.
