Hi Bill,

Welcome. I am glad you are here. I have bipolar 1, and wasn't on meds until last April. I got so sick, I was cycling everyday!!.

I also feel god got me through the 21 yrs, I wasn't treated.

Thaere is NAMI.com. There are free med programs. There are mental health clinics, that offer sliding scale. There is county mental health, too. I have just filed for diability and am waiting on it. I am on City, and county housing, section 8. I have food stamps, and I have gotten help from churches, and other agencies.

Hang out, share, vent, and ask as many questions as you want. You are not alone.

God Bless,Gypsy

Bill, you are very fixable. All you need are the tools and the willingness to get help. Someone is usually awake late at night...I am a night owl so am up til late...

Bipolar disease is like diabetes..with meds, good lifestyle, and no alcohol or drugs...this disease is manageable. I have bipolar disease and so does my 25 yr old son...we lead a happy productive life, have jobs, the whole nine yards...

Bill, There is no cure, but with meds we can heal, and be happy with out the

suffering. Meds aren't perfect.

I have finally accepted, that, I am going to have bipolar the rest of my life, so, I might as well relax, and enjoy the ride,,,LOL

When I was on the med search, I was so afraid they wouldn't find anything that would help me, and I would be left here to suffer my insanity.

It was scary. If there is hope for me, there is hope for you...

God Bless,Gypsy

Hi, Bill, welcome to the group, being unemployed doesn't mean you can't get help, like glory said, there is a thread here that has many many places that you can go to get help, somewhere is the mental health in your location, I was unemployed for 6 months, and had to have help with all my meds, I was able to get my diabetes meds, heart/BP meds from a free clinic, and then my bipolar meds were patient assistance through the mental health, there are places that can help you with some of the bills, etc..

You are treatable, and you can go to the hospital, insurance or not, break out the phone book, and look up Mental health, or call your local state agency that helps families, and people with food stamps and stuff, they can provide you with a list of places you can get help.

meds like Gypsy said, are not a cure, but they sure make life more bearable, and getting angry? all of us do at times, and there is nothing wrong with it, as long as you have valid reason to do so... your human, you are entitled to your emotions.. I get angry, sad, happy, content, all those things, and when I get angry, trust me, the person or persons I am angry at know about it. lol..
