there is a thread here somewhere that talks about our shower fears...it got quite interesting...

I know I thought about the insecticide poisoning me too...what a decision the spiders or the poison...LOL and we have red ants in the yard and I hate to put poison on them because it might kill the birds...ala Rachel Carson in Silent Spring

I know what you guys mean about fears. I have the one with the spiders and the drain. I also think someone hides in my house and will go around looking often even with the doors shut. I am always scared someone is in the back of my car. i will shine a light over and over just making sure.

Oh boy do I ever hate the 'back of the car' fear. Do the same thing Pixie, but I always thought it was because of that stupid urban legend.

Come to think of it, I also can't watch a scary movie without socks on, can't hang my barefeet over the edge of my bed, and I use to not even be able to get in or out of bed without looking like a pole vaulter, because of my fear of something under the bed. So my beautiful husband took the bed off of the frame...

Gah...I really do love him.

SPEAKING OF SOMETHING UNDER THE BED........When I was a junior in high schoo, I was finally allowed to go to my first movie at the movie house. I went to the Halooween midnight showing of, "The House of Usher."

(Vincent Price), with a friend. OH my God it was soooooooooo scary (I had never seen a big screen like that before, so it was terrifying to me. Well during one of the scariest scenes, the 2 boys setting behind us (we did not know them) reached under our seats and grabbed our ankels!!!! I have never screamed or shaken so bad in my life!!! We both cried so hard we had to leave. I will never forget it............hey could this be another reason for my PTSD??????????? (makes me wonder)

spiders, ewwwwwwwwwwwww

i so hate spiders, worst thing is where i live i have these wolf spiders that come in my room, so far ive caught 15 or so in a jar, i save them in case i ever get bit i can show the doctor. they say there poisonous but so far the 3 or so that touched my arm and face has not bitten me thank god. i think they just love my warm room.. i wish they would leave me alone and enjoy there 500 acres of land. why do they have to bug me?? i even have bad dreams of them and wake up and turn lights on at 3am and nothing.. grrrrrrr it ticks me off.. i get oanic attacks to.. not show much that i fear spiders b/c when i see them im not scared really. i know i can just kill it but i dont... i just want them gone, i dont go outside hunting them, why so they hunt me

if you lie now they will find out later and things will be worse then ever so just tell the truth now and deal with it

Spiders don't scare me all that much, I've tried to make a agreement with them, they stay on the ceiling and I will stay on the floor, they come down from there, their dead.

Now the bugs that do get to me, are what I call potato bugs, they look like 3 marbles stuck together with pinchers.. pre-historic looking things.

ok-how about the "i'm sure someone is behind me" when you're walking up or down the basement stairs? i've been so creeped out with that one that i've literally run up the stairs two at a time and smashed into the wall because i was so busy looking behind me (see my post "clumsy, clutzy, accident prone...rofl)
