Just was cleaning out my closet for a yard sale & was doing some HEAVY thinking on this subject. I have a hard time letting go of my clothes ARGH.

I have hanging in order in the closet - the larger size & the smaller size on each side of the closet & the size that fits me in the middle. I never quite realized this until I went to clean the closet out?STRANGE!

I want so badly to be ok with myself. I'm afraid if I am ok with myself I'm going to lose/be out of control? I go shopping for clothes & I buy things that don't fit me, they are to big or to small????

I took this HUMONGOUS step & just started ripping everything that didn't fit me off the hangers and into the sell pile. I'm hoping this is a step in the right direction????It is winter, so I have sweat shirts/tshirts that fit but all the cute stuff yuh no?

I feel like hanging on to all this CRAP could be doing me harm?I walk into a closet full of stuff that is so cute & I can't wear it!!!What is the therapy logic to that????Why would I be going out and buying things that won't fit me?Because I want to be someone different, because Im not happy with myself?I go out and purposely by shirts that are to small, waste my money, bring them home & I can't wear them. Because I refuse to buy a larger size, but won't lose weight? How ridiculous is that?

Anywhooo, what steps are you taking to just like you for who YOU are & accept, you are who you are???

My husband gave me $ to buy some new clothes. I'm going to go on a day that I am feeling good. Take some time, try things on make sure they fit & look nice.

Hugs,

Amber

Good for you Amber...a neat closet makes me feel better too. I did the same thing...cleaned out everything that didn't fit or I didn't wear...it went to Goodwill...had lots of room...went and bought new outfits that were my size and not what I wore 5 yrs ago...LOL I would just go look in closet and it made me feel good to see everything neat...also, got one of those closet organizing systems..it is great.

Wow, This is a great subject Amber.

I am going to do the same thing. I have been working on that for a while now.

I went on a hair dying tangent for years to look like the ladies in the magazines. I have compared myself to that perfect woman for so long. I finally got tired of it. I cut all my hair off last year. I got on meds, and gained 30 lbs. I was in really good shape for along time. So recently, I have been accepting that I am okay as I am. My boyfriend helps with this alot.He says , I am just as hot the way, I am.

But, like you I have been holding onto clothes that are that smaller size, just in case. It just makes me depressed. I am dying my hair but it is now because, I want to feel good, not to look good for other people.

I am working out because it makes me feel good not because I want to be the model in the magazines.

Besides, I would rather be a good example to my daughter. I want her to have the idea that she is beautiful the way she is.

Thanks, again. I think, I am going to clean out my closet. I have tried to shop in the juniors section, and when, I bring a shirt home it ends up being too low in the neck line for my taste....LOL And those low waist pants that show your undies? I just can't pull that off anymore.

God Bless,Gypsy

See, that is what I am trying to do. That darn Juniors department ARGH. I like the styles. Why can't they make those styles in 'normal' sizes (i no there is that word again LOL). All tho I like the low rise jeans, just not the LOW low rise.

I am going to make a KILLIN' off this yard sale LMAO!!!I think i pulled out about 15 pairs of jeans NO JOKE!I have been hanging on to these for several years. They are still in style so thats good!I was holding tank tops up & thinking OH but it's my favorite. And on top of that would have to lose about 30 lbs to fit back into it...And soo I said 'ITS NOT ME ANYMORE' & threw it into the pile!!!!!!

I have been hanging on to like 30 VHS movies that my kids haven't watched in over 2 years, just because they used to watch them when they were lil teensies Hubby says save them for when we have grandkids..Whoo knows what we will have to watch our movies on when & if we have grandkids. We probably wont even have a VCR.

My husband is going to come home and think I have gone mad!!!WUAHAHAHAHA

Do you ever watch those shows on tv that make people clean out their stuff and have a garage sale to fix up the house. LOL It is a riot...I watch on Sat AM.

I accept me for me...screwed up, sometimes smart, sometimes not, make mistakes, correct them, make more mistakes, correct them, finally figure out why making mistakes, tired of correcting. LOL

I talk to myself a lot...sometimes argue with myself...sometimes agree with myself...talk about never alone!!!!
