Zinnia,

That was an incredible and beautiful response. I have felt a stronger connection to who I am spiritually in this for the reasons you suggest. I am fundamentally that Angela. I know there are certain things I would enjoy if I didn't have this horrible anxiety and depression. My manic times are probably more closely related to who I really am, just in total excess. I hope I am not the only person to say they enjoy parts of being manic. Thank you for your thought inspiring words.

Angela

angela-if you're feeling that kind of spirituality in touch thing right now, try reading "eat, pray, love". you will be into it.

it's all a journey, right? we just have to walk it with bp. i've had three crying jags today/night and when i read your post, i just remembered what i have been learning in meditation and sharing it helped me to feel some of that depression melt.

so it is to you that i am grateful

Zinnia- I will definitely look into that book. I have to say in the process of my responding to your post I started writing, and realized something. I really need to start doing Yoga again. It was something that calmed me down a lot, plus it is great for so many other things. Thanks! I am not going to make excuses as to why I am not doing it, but rather I am going to make it happen.

Hi Norma,

I can appreciate your perspective. In other words, accept myself for what and who I am, regardless of why I am that way. So how do you separate your bipolarness so you can differentiate it and adjust your behavior accordingly?

how weird! a big part of the book i was telling you and norma about, angela, was when the author goes to an ashram in india for four months. she's been very in to yoga and has a guru, but then goes through a terrible time and...i won't ruin the whole thing...lol...it has inspired me to start doing yoga and meditating again, too. i suggest the yoga deck if you need to get back into it. just search amazon. they have it and it's really cheap.

peace to all

Hi Gypsy and Zinnia,

So Gypsy you suggest CBT? I think CBT is a good thing, and is very effective for a lot of disorders. It would make total sense that it would be good for a disorder like BP where disciplined schedules are necessary.

Zinnia- That is pretty strange how that is relative. Yoga is so good, and my body needs the stretching. It opens the mind in a way that I also need right now.

Thank you both for your excellent suggestions and dialogue

Angela
