I'm 39 years old and I have had small episodes of depression and mania in my life but never like what I'm facing now. Everyday is a struggle to get out of bed and go to work. I worry obssesively about everything. All I ever wanted was to be a good dad and now it's very hard.

Hi Greg! Are you taking medication or in counseling?

Worry is a vicious cycle...

It is hard taking care of ourselves, let alone taking care of children too! Are you a single dad?

I have tried so many meds. I am very sensitive to meds and have a hard time tolerating them. Right now I take Limictal, zyprexan and seroquel. I have been on them a short time. I am married with 3 step kids and 2 from my first marriage.

My fiancee takes Lamictal and Seroquel and has pretty good luck with those. I hope they work well for you...

Wow - 5 kids total! You have your hands full!

Hi Greg,

I have 4 kids..LOL I have drug my first three through my illness. I took them to counseling, and they were fine. I was really worried about them, too. I am just greatful, they don't have to go through that, anymore. My 2 yr old never has to see me turn into the the girl on Exorcist...LOL. So, anyway, now you can spend more time on your kids, and wife instead of your illness getting in your way.

God Bless,Gypsy

Hey Greg, give yourself a chance, and the meds a chance, those 5 children are reason to get out of bed, you have to take care of them.

Talk with your therapist about what is going on.

"Be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle."
