Music for me is very soothing for me,and is a source of joy in my life. I am blessed to know some great musicians, and live in a city where I can hear live music anytime I want. Also I love art and again am blessed to live within walking distance of a world class museum. Not last or least I love to cook and eat in communal settings:Barbeques,Crawfish boils, fishfrys, ect.Would love to hear of the things that help heal you.

Great Thread Dreux, You live in my favorite City..miss it...

things that heal my soul, cup of good coffee in the morning, lots of books to read, flowers on the side of the road, talking to people, watching my kids(who are grown)become good people, cooking dinner for my family, Jazz music, old movies, Crawfish Boils, fishing, and this site with all the good people I have met here...joyeux de vie.

Dreux, N'awlins is such a beautiful city! I live near Monroe, LA and though there aren't as many cool places to go, we do the food based activities. As a matter of fact, Friday night is scheduled for a Crawfish boil! Nothing like pouring all those steaming mudbugs onto a table and standing up to eat...we add the traditional corn and taters, but do some special stuff, cauliflower, mushrooms and carrots. They are so awesome cooked up in that Zatarain's seasoning! About a month ago we did oysters at my step daughter's house, fried, raw, and rolled up in bacon and cooked (these were awesome!) they also fried up some trout for the non-oyster eating ppl. It is wonderful to share this time with friends and loved ones.

Walking my dog helps, though my walking has physical limitations, I enjoy walking the yard with her and looking at all of the pretty flowers and bushes that are in bloom right now. Spring in LA, my favorite time of year, before it gets too steamy and hot outside.

This is an awesome post Dreux, how nice to focus on the good things in life.

Somedays it's not worth chewing through the restraints!

Glad to have found this thread. Mine are connceted to those at the top sort of. I like to take drives and listen to music or read and write, but the one I really like is going to flea markets and finding odd or antique things to fill my home. The thing that makes it similar is I love french culture so my home is filled with paintings and french type things. Like a cast iron eiffel tower or the arc de triomphe. I even used to speak french. I still know the lords prayer in french and some other things.

Awesome thread, The greatest thing that nourishes my soul is my relationship with Jesus Christ. The love of my wonderful wife. Along with that the fellowship of my Christian brothers and sisters as well as my friends here at MDJunction. I enjoy Celtic music (most other forms of music too). Riding motorcycle, feeling of freedom. I could go on forever, I have an appreciation of so many things now.

GOD BLESS ALL

Hi Dreux,

The cup of coffee in the morning, and seeing the trees, and the sun I like to write, and read inpsirational books. I journal. I like to go fishing the sound of the water, and quiet help me relax. I garden.

I love looking my baby, and seeing the innocents in her, and looking at my older kids, and remembering the babies in them. Hugs from my kids. Looking in my fiance pretty blue eyes. Cooking, and baking.

God Bless,Gypsy

Let's see, music definitely helps me. I like to play the guitar and sing too. If I can come up with a fresh idea, I like to write stories/books. I have a lot of poems. I also love laying next to river rapids in the heart of the redwoods and listening to the water run...that is good 'thinking' time.

Although the very most relaxing thing in the world to me is being around animals. Preferrably dogs, or horses, with cats coming in a close third.

I had one dog (a bouvier de flandres) who I will swear to this day saved my life. She knew when I was sad and when I needed extra attention and she followed me everywhere and would lay her head on my lap. Dangit I loved that dog. She had lots of hair like a sheep dog and she would let me spend hours grooming her. She communicated with me through different distinctive barks. I was never lonely or panicky when she was around. Dogs, yep, definitely dogs.

Thanks to all who shared, I really enjoyed reading all the wonderful things in life that are SOOO GOOD! I could picture in my mind the scenes you described, and now have many more things to add to my list because of Ya'll. I try hard to remember when i'm in the dumper, that people travel from all over the word to experience the life and culture that is out my front door and I would be a fool not to open the door and go outside. I pray we all remember the joys of life and OPEN UP THE DOOR AND GO OUTSIDE!!
