Tonight is BP Fiance's first visit for alcoholism and BPD. Not yet diagnosed, but the scale tips in favor of that diagnosis. I am looking forward to it, he is a little worried. I asked him this morning what was bothering him about it. He told me that his biggest fear is that once he is diagnosed and prescribed medication, that I will see him as weak and not really a "man" anymore. He thinks I will leave him because I would not want to be with him because of the disorder. To the contrary. If he doesn't help himself, then I will walk. I am young and smart and can take care of myself and my boys. The only thing I lose by making the decision to walk away is the first man that I have ever truly been in love with. I would be making the biggest sacrifice. I am so in love with him, I don't think he even digs it. But he will soon enough, because he will be well, and the focus will finally be on us and our family. I pray for us every day and thank all of you for your prayers. |
