I'm battling a sever case of hives for going on 2 1/2 months (24/7) they are horrible and they can't figure out what is causeing them. They say it is not my meds. Now I'm on a diet to see if it is foods. They tried Phototherapy and it got worse, burned, and caused white patches. I'm beside myself. I wish I had better news. My husband has been wonderful, but doesn't quite understand my bi-polar and that I just can't calm down.

Hope everybody is doing good - be talking to you soon. judylee

I have just gotten over a case of hives...my heart goes out to you. Mine is caused by a sever allergy to wine...in any form...hubby, got me a frozen dinner and it had wine in it. He didn't mean to..had to take benedryl for 2 weeks...hives all over face and arms.

Someone suggested cold compresses which helped.

I found out what caused mine by evaluating my diet...cutting down to just a few things and then adding one thing at a time...

Hope it gets better for you. I know how miserable the hives are...hugs, Norma

I am not bipolar - so therefore not on any meds that could cause a reaction, but have had hives for "no reason' quite a bit over the last year. It was all stress related.. due to circumstances with my mom and dad. I was able to get this confirm from my doctor and dermo after they had done thyroid testing. Thyroid (underactive) can also have hives as lesser know side effect.
