That's funny Kimmy, and how very true, the world doesn't have time to think about us, we ain't that important, alcoholic's go through the same kinda thing, everyone is picking on us, it ain't our fault we lose a job, quit a job, etc... I worked for a transportation company one time that hired primarily alcoholics in recovery, one guy was told to show for a interview at 11AM, he wondered in about 2pm, when i told him sorry the position was already filled, he told me but you don't understand I am a alcoholic, I can't be expected to show up on time, after I picked myself up off the floor from laughing so hard, I introduced myself, I am Carmen, recovering alcoholic/addict, the look on his face was priceless. Sad to say though this is part of the illness, and a hard thing to break. Carmen |
