Ok yesterday I was fine. Today I've cried and all that stuff, worthlessness and can't be motivated.

Someone mentioned mixed episodes? What are those and how are they different from rapid cycling or are they?

The voice inside my head doesn't like you either!

My journey to the grave will not be with an attractive well preserved body, I will skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand and wine in the other totally worn out and screaming "WOO HOO WHAT A RIDE"

From what my doctor explained to me which is what I am bipolar 1 with mixed cycles, is that you have more manic episodes then depressive episodes, having bipolar 2 you have more depressive episodes rather than manic...Mixed is when you are experiencing both of them at the same time.. Like a recurring different mood swing every 5 minutes LOL not sure about that lol

I feel like I'm more Bipolar 2 than the other then. I'm just sad about all the time and even when I'm kinda happy it will only take some small thing sometimes to make me feel like I haven't taken my meds.

that's what bp 2 sounds like to me right?

Hi P8nt,

The Abilfy is an antipsychotic. I have bipolar 1, and have the whole collection of symptoms. I have mixed mania, and am a rapid cycler. I ultra rapid cycle...LOL I can have the irritability, and depression for a couple of days, and then it can lead into mania, and then drop into depression.

I can cycle twice a day sometimes. I take meds, and have to use otherways to deal with my moods, too. There is whats called cognitive therapy, and other natural ways to take care of myself. I journal, go for a walk. I try to eat healthy. I make sure, I sleep well. I work out. My boyfriend helps me by getting me out of the house, when I am heading for isolation.

I take time outs, and sit , and breath through the cycles.

I would check out cognitive therapy. It has helped me alot.

I was told it was the hardest to treat, and whether, I am on meds, or not, I am still going to cycle. They are just not as extreme.

I just got my Lithium upped, and I feel alot better, but, still have my rough days.

God Bless,Gypsy

thank you gypsy, it's reassuring to know someone else goes thru what i thought was me just being messed up and not knowing why.

I have a therapist that is working with me on the cognitive therapy. she does help a great deal and about every other session or so I have her talk to the b/f to make sure he knows how to help me as well.

so is my abilify a drug for bipolar or what? is it anywhere close to lithium? Just wondering?thanks

Abilify is for bipolar, and schizophrenia. It's for mania, and psychosis. The rage, paranoia, suspicion, seeing things, hearing things. etc. Lithium is the only true mood stablizer. The other bipolar meds are either anti psychotics, or anti convulsents. I can't spell...LOL. But, Lithium is for mania, too, and has helped me alot with my psychosis, and depression. It has helped with my mixed mania, too. I love it. I also take Lamictal. All anti psychotics work really well for me. You can look all of this up on the web, too. That's where, I got it. I research everything. I look up all the meds, I get. That way, I know what side effects to expect.

Nothing has worked as well as Lithium so far. It is a weight gainer, though. I have tried all the other meds, they have, and I still had really bad symptoms.

I know, I rambled......LOL

God Bless,Gypsy
