Well 2sides. I am bipolar and have been for years and years. I at times have heard voices. Told my shrink and he wasn't too concerned. A man just kept telling me..."Shut the fuck up!" Hasn't happened in a while though. It really didn't scare me though, just pissed me off. lol

You need to take your medicine. That's the first thing you need to do. When my husband was in his mania stage he was extremely paranoid about everything (including, surprisingly, white vans). He didn't "hear voices" necessarily but he did feel presences. Some meds that they use to treat bipolar (Invega...he's on that one) are also used to treat Schizophrenia, so they can be alike when in the mania phase. I don't know a whole lot about schizophrenia. What I do know is that you will not feel better EVER if you don't take your meds and see your doc regularly. You need to tell the doctor exactly what you are feeling so that he/she can change the meds until they find the right mix for you. Hang in there and come here to vent anytime you need to. We are all here to help! Hugs

What is it about vans? I will be out walking the dog and a van will drive by slowly and automatically I get paranoid. Today it was a yellow van, I could hear it turn around at my neighbors and it drove by again. Guess I shouldn't be too suspicious, I do live in the first house on the road here and it's country, plus my rd has loop on the end of it, so it's natural for people to make a mistake and go the wrong way. The last time it was white and it drove by me pretty slowly so my mind had the guy chasing me down and attacking me. I turned on my heel and proceeded back to the house as fast as I could. I hear voices occasionally, but not too often, but it is usually at night, more often than not I hear music.

Do take your meds regularly and report any side effects or changes to your pdoc.

Somedays it's not worth chewing through the restraints!

Hi 2sides,

I have bipolar 1 with psychotic features, and have heard voices, hallucinated, and get paranoid, and suspicious.

I am close to being schizo affective.

I found this link for you it talks about the topic you just posted about.
