No, I'm not manic, I promise.

But I do have another question that I would like to get opinions on.

Does anyone think that you can become intolerant to your meds after taking them for so long? This is a constant fear of mine, as I feel like I am always adding to the ones that I already take. I just worry that eventually none of them will work for me.

Another thing, I have taken Effexor for...well...lol, I have no idea how long, but it's been at least 6 years.

Has anyone ever tried to ween off of Effexor? Do you know what I'm talking about when I say "brain shocks"? Even though I take my effexor daily, and at the same time every day (300 mg in the morning), I still occassionally get these brain shocks and tingliness in my extremities, as if I didn't take my medicine. Should I believe that this is because I might be becoming immune to it? I don't know. Should I mention it to dr? I guess that's a stupid question. I'm sure I should. But the one time that I did mention that to someone in the hospital one of the times that I was IP, they told me that this was nonsense and I wouldn't feel these symptoms unless I didn't have the medicine in me for quite a while. Whatever.

Just curious to hear other opinions on this!

OK. I promise, this is my last post of the day! Well, last new one anyway....

Aw, thanks Norma, I really appreciate that! I guess I just have a lot of questions today. And really, I guess I should have posted this in the medications section. Sorry. Bad me. LOL

No, that is ok...I have an employee who takes Effexor and has been for 4 months, he said he gets the tingling too. He also zones out at work sometimes and has to take a time out and just chill for a few minutes.. then he is ok...hope this helps some..

Hi, Mivie, never worry about how much and how often you post, that is what we are here for, I haven't taken the effexor, but I have heard from the others here that sometimes the meds can become where they don't work as well as they did before, this is where you have to communicate with your doctor, anything and everything, no matter how small you might consider it, needs to be told to the doctor, they have no way to judge if your meds are working right unless you tell them.

miviem,

I have heard that people have to have their meds adjusted after awhile, because their tolerance goes up. So it could be that you might need to get them adjusted. My friend has to have her meds adjusted after 3 yrs of being on the same one. I have to get mine increased occasionally.

Don't worry about posting too much. I started posting a while ago, and now, I can't seem to stop...LOL

God Bless,Gypsy
